the bull trout started spawning a month early around here too, they were pretty well done before the normal start times

I came back from Golden yesterday and there was a lot of snow on the hills. I know it will melt but it looked nice.

We put on about 75% of the miles last year compared to a normal season, and it was hard to tell anyone to drive for the snow we had. Even with the small snow pack we had some really great riding up high, and if we get a winter like the last one I will still ride lots and I think that anyone that loves to ride just needs to stop being snow snobs and get it when you can.... if you keep waiting for it to be epic you end up missing some of the skinny days that can be just as epic. I say spend time working on skills and riding the trees when the snow isn't awesome and when it is you will have more skills to slay the living hell out of it.

That is true. A lot of people have said the last 2 years have sucked, sure the weather might not have been the greatest, But i had as many awesome days as any other year, just had to go higher or look harder for the good stuff.

And in doing so i find over time my tree magnetism had deteriorated

i took a quick look at snowfall in Fernie and compared it El Nino and La Nina years. Some data is missing and not all years have a El Nino or La Nina

what I see is that La Nina years tend to be bigger snow, El Nino is all over the place, no real correlation. The only very strong el nino was slightly above average so I am not too worried about this year.

Couple Pics my Buddy @ripitup84 took while snowboarding in Kananaskis Saturday morning August 22nd 2015. He said there was 5-7"still by the time he got up there and hot already so probably melted down a bit. Thought you guys might appreciate this.
