Going through pull cords

I have a 2011 Etec and gotten it out 5 times so far and have broken the pull start handle on the 3rd day out and then the cord broke on the 5th day. Just was curious if anyone has had issues with pull starts breaking and what they did to remedy it?

My friend did he said something about a sharp edge. He ended up re-routing it and putting a billet handle on.

lots are fraying right at the handle, tie a new knot and slip a piece of shrink tubing up to the knot and shrink it onto the cord

Also tie a knot in the rope under the handle so if it breaks again it doesnt go into the recoil and screw you for the day.
