I could run and exercise every day I dont work(which is a lot) but I have a life and only spend an hour a day in the gym. The training program is nothing compared to diet.

It takes both actually, no one likes to look JUST skinny. Muscle is what makes a person look fit "any amount" Its not hard to stay in shape if you stay consistent.

Plus working out with weights burns more cals that regular cardio ;)

I've been hammering in the gym since January after falling away from it for a year. Dropped ten pounds and gained a lot of strength so far along with keeping a photo log to keep track of my progress. I've also been watching my diet as well, no pop, fast food and barely any booze. More organic foods and stuff that has real ingredients and not something you need a doctorate in chemistry to understand. I feel way better, I have more energy and I sleep better.

Theres some good info where people make their everyday logs with and without photos. Works wonders because one can get free advice from pro fitness/bodybuilders ;) to help you along in diet and or exercices.

PS: Good for you, keep hard at it :)

Anyone looking for a rather simple automated personal trainer to follow, check out BodBot: Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, and Coach. Free.
I started following this a few months ago, and it's been good. You can set your goals, and your schedule, and it's magical computer stuff works out a program for you. You can upgrade to a paid version, but it is free.
Put the app on your phone and take it to the gym with you, you will always have your workout with you, and it has an explanation and video (for most) for the exercises if you don't know what it is. It's still quite new, but looks like it will be an awesome program.

This site works "somewhat" but there are a huge amt of flaws in thits programs. Just be careful is all :) and take it for what is truly is a VERY generic and none educated guess on what one really needs. As everyones so different on what each individual needs for diet, exercise etc etc

Yes, as I said, it is still VERY new, and they are currently in the building phase of the program! But it is better than just pulling a program from Men's Health, or even other forums, as you can play with settings to meet your schedule needs. I like that this site has tracking of your progress for certain exercises, and if you don't like certain things, like running, you can avoid those activities. It will now substitute biking, or rowing instead of running for my cardio, which helps with my knees. You can also swap out specific exercises if you don't like them to another one that still targets the same/similar muscles. I know it's not perfect, but it has worked for me so far. I used to work out with a trainer 3 times a week for 6 months. I had great results, busted through some plateaus, but training isn't cheap and I would have to give up other things, like sledding/biking to afford to continue going, so I stopped. However, my trainer built me 4 programs to follow for 6 months, spending 6 weeks with each program. I found I just regressed with my progress again, just had a harder time following those programs and got bored.
I like this system because every workout is different.
For the average person, the only way that they are going to be getting exactly what they need, is to work with a trainer. Everything else out there will be quite generic, as everyone is different.
