Just putting it out there . Has anyone tried one? Most reviews are good but I think SM members will give real world results.

Umm so the question is - are oem belts actually made by the oem manufacturer - dont think so ! So there has to be a aftermarket supplier that meets oem requirements

Lets get this straight I said OEM belts were better in my opinion. I know they are manufactured for the OEM by other companies.

I would think that if the OEM gets a company to make their belts there would be a clause in the contract that would state they can not make belts to the same specs exactly and sell them. It would cut out the middle man....( ie the OEM )and be way cheaper for the consumer, there is aftermarket belts and from my experience performance and quality is lacking compared to OEM, but I haven't been a cheap skate and bought an aftermarket belt in quite a few years so maybe they are getting better. The day I have to cheap out and buy junk aftermarket belts because I cant afford OEM is the day maybe I should quit sledding, do some clutching mods and vent out hot air and belts will last a long time........ I havent blown a belt since I had the turbo 1100 in 13, and that was only because I towed a guy on a broke down 13 xm outta goat ridge in 3' of fresh the previous day

Thats all fine and dandy if your running one sled that is new and straight, I have 4 boys a wife and me burning them up lol. Stockers for me cheapies for the rest. Too damn expensive for all, And the gates actually have a warranty. They work well on the stockers, couldnt make them last on the turbo though.

Im running 3 sleds usually every year and will only run OEM belts in all, but none of my sleds are belt blowers so the only reason for changing is because they have had to many miles and its time for a new one. I dont mind a $250 belt if it lasts 2000+ km's and my last three I have changed out had that for sure on them

Well i run oem belts also and have not run afternarket belt for a few years - but at just over $200 a belt it starts to get expensive when u have few sleds - just was putting it out there to anyonecwho has any luck with aftrrmarket and alittle less expensive - just saying - but the joys of sledding outway the negatives

I've always run OEM belts...but Yamaha belts are only $120 a piece. I'm considering Gates for my xm...skidoo belt prices are silly! Gates makes all kinds of industrial belts...I've got a gates belt running my super charger.

They work great, ran them for years.. never an issue. Still haven't wore one out after over 3000 miles of riding
