Anyone try using "Startron" I think it called. It's supposed to make ethanol fuel safe for sleds.

I will back ferniesnow on the chevron gas. I have had bad chevron 94 at revelstoke and golden. Both times the deto sensor was kicking off cause a loss in performance. That was with 3 sleds with the same results on the same day, yet the day before all 3 were fine. Revy I thought would be the last place for bad gas given how many people fill there.

Shell V-power is what we use in Revy now too. We ran Chevron 94 untill we rode there two years ago and my dad blew his motor on his stock XP and it boiled down to bad fuel.

We now run Shell V-power and because of the one hose thing we always throw a little bit of Torco Accelerator in there to compensate for the little bit of regular a guy will be getting from the hose. Haven't had an issue since even with my old M1200 that need decent fuel.

Shell V-power gets my vote every time

Good to know gents, maybe the storage and handling or select limited location? If it sits too long or there is water/condensation in the tank, I could see it being an issue, but I've never bought 94 in Revy, I know of a turbo guy who runs it no problems, and I've put it through a 900 HP blower motor from another location and no issues. Fortunately AV gas out here is just as cheap as 94 in BC now, so I don't have the need to buy 94 anymore.... LOL

Not sure if mine is called startron but I use an ethanol stabilizer in my motorcycle and it's been fine, I had no issues after the bike sitting most of September when I took it out on Saturday... And I only run regular in that bike so it sees ethanol in every tank!

It has to say at the pump if there is ethanol in it.

Co-op and shell do not have ethanol in 91. Also the perk of a gas truck is pump 2-3 litres into truck before fuelling sled.

I have a van and a bike stored in Arizona, filled both with the local premium (ethanol?) and added Startrol. Five months later, both units started on first crank and no running issues, I believe the stuff works as advertised.

it is an easy test to see if there is ethanol in gas
just get a glass or something to put gas into that you can see through put some water in it and mark the level then put gas into it and shake it up then check the level of the water if there is more water when it settles then it tells you that there is ethanol in the gas.
you can actually buy test kits and im thinking it would be a handy tool to have
getting to be a pain in the butt getting good gas

I have my doubts about premium gas from the corner store being any better than regular from the coop cardlock. Somebody tell me I am wrong... Also does anybody have anything to report about VP fuel fixer? Thanx

My '12 Pro with a 13.1:1 PAR head runs awesome on Shell Gold. On the other hand, it runs crappy and the DET light flashes constantly when running Petro Can premium. Whe I ride Blue River, I bring a jerry can of 114 and add 2-4 liters to each tank of Petro Crap and sled runs great.
