Hey guys,

Just bought a 850 and this is my first eTrex. Just wondering what everyone is running the clickers at for riding in valemount / mcbride / Blue river areas??? I know I may need to change them just hoping to get some other people preferred settings??

Dont be afraid to play with the clickers, but yah need to add or remove weight accordingly. So far we have found one particular clicker to work extremely well. And it isnt 3.
Two different sleds, two different clutch setups but the same result.

On the Pdrive the clicker doesn’t really change rpm like the TRA.
It changes the shift pattern from engagement.
You need to change weight in order to set RPM.

All youtube and I'm pretty sure the manual says to change clicker will result in rpm +\- 200rpm...

They will control the rpm overshot in different settings .
So that would mean RPM change yes no? When you use a clicker you are changing the angle up the ramp and the forces, if the tip is raised or lowered lets say 40 thou, of course the rpm will change and so will the shift characteristic. Why is this so hard to understand?

Straight from the race manual. Read the entire page.

"As can be seen, peak rpm will mostly be affected by this change, 150rpm"

Indont get wtf u guys are trying to argue, ya it clamps sooner or later, but the primary affect is less or more rpm.

Love to see our back country expert video explaining this to clear up.. I really don't think even brp has a clue what this new pdrive clicker should be doing..

More than a few discussions occured over this, had two dealers even have opposite views a week ago.. clear as mud

It will change the overshot in different positions but to control rpm you change pivot weights.
Try it ??
I bought the book as soon as it was available and played with the clutch a fare bit .
Like Fred said? Most dealers have no clue. Lol

Read what Joey has written up (dj clutch / ibackshift.com)

https://www.ibackshift.com/article/850-g4-summit-196.asp#clickerposition

Not sure if its just his kit but he states that if you want the engine to be more 'revy' you go to clicker 1 or 2. If you want the engine to load up a bit more you go to clicker 4 or 5 and that no matter the clicker position, you should stay around the 7900-8000 mark (for his elevation anyway). I haven't adjusted my clickers at all but pull just over 8000 in 3' of powder. On the trail i've cracked the throttle wide open to catch up after stopping to swap goggles and hit 8350 (not intentionally) and didn't hit the rev limiter.
