What has been your experiance with racing fuels? Is it worth the extra $$$??

I ran a blend of C-14 and premuim in my 800 Sportsman this summer and YEAH!! There was a big difference in performance. I also extended my range by 25km's. More power and better milage.

I gotta be Honest H-ATV, I just bought the new rig last year and I'm always looking to have my warranty 'kick-in' if the need arises, and one never knows if a 'mod' or change in fuel will result in a 'void-ed' warranty etc. That being said...just what is C-14 all about ie: cost/performance/savings etc...?

Funny how things come about, I hijacked another thread (before seeing this reply) about mods and added a polll that will address this questions (I think). Man are we on the same page...

I am curious about what is being used in sleds and quads. I am now an authorized dealer for VP Racing Fuels. I have placed my first order based on what a few guys in Hinton are running in thier sleds. Most use the C-12 straight up or blended with premium pump gas. One customer with a turbo charged sled is wanting the VP-110. I would like to know what people have been useing so I can stock the right stuff.
I brought in some Ultimate 4.2. (U4.2). Motocross Action magazine gave it a 5-star rating. In a full-page review in the October issue, the editors described VP’s U4.2 racing fuel as "instant horsepower," offering “tremendous energy potential. (Compared to pump gas) Peak horsepower...jumped a full horsepower (on a dirt bike!) from 7000 rpm all the way to sign off.” Few if any jetting changes are required and there is an improved smell. They claim a 6% gain in horsepower. So with a 50hp. engine you should gain a full 3 HP. Your going to feel that!
Racing fuel is an inexpensive way to gain horespower and as far as I know will not affect a warrantee. (I'm looking into that)
I'm going to be trying the U4.2 in my 800 Sportsman this weekend. I am expecting big results!

For more info about racing fuel and what type would work best for you go to www.vpracingfuels.com. Check it out. If you have any other questions just ask!

I am selling VP Fuel by the 208l barrel, 19l pail or in bulk by the liter. You can bring your own gerry can or I can sell you a 19l VP bottle for about $35.00.

I may be in the wrong thread here, I'm burning the mix in a sled.
It's ported, polished, piped with high compression so I have no choice but to run the mix. It works great.

What is the result of the 50/50 mix? Are you happy with the performance? Is it worth the $$$$?? What are you using for 2 stroke oil?

it really depends on what your setup is for what fuel you should run. for example my sled as it was with a 800 speedwerx motor would run on 114 around here but you would have to mix that back to about 50/50 in the hills to maintain proper mixture.
my z440snopro was faster on 87 octane then 91 as were many R1 street bikes i see.
but that said 91 is safer then 87 if its not old.
91 octane pump gas might be worse then 87 if its out of the ground for over 3-4 months
- 91 ocatne 3months out of ground -87 about 6 months out of ground befor it starts to go bad.
so im just saying running race fuel might not always help if i tried to run 114 in the mountains it would be to rich and be boogin so i have to lean it back with pump gas to get the right ratio again.
theres way more to it then i know but that a few things off the top of my head.

If a guy is looking to get a couple of extra octane points, without getting into mixing a couple of gallons of race fuel per tank. We used VP C5 Octane Boost in our stock/improved stock sleds for a couple of octane points; without the hassle of mixing fuels. It comes in 20 Oz bottles, and I believe 10 Oz's/10 gallons pump fuel gives 2-3 octane points. I haven't used it in a few years, but I'm gonna pick some up this year and try it with 87 octane. I'll bet our premium fuel tanks in Grande Cache don't get filled 3 times/year. So the premium fuel here is far from "fresh".

I have for sale here in Hinton a blend that is 97 octane, oxegenated, leaded and fresh! It is a blend made of VP U4.2 and high test pump gas. I have been testing it and the results have been very positive. The two stroke Banshee and our 90cc Polaris Preditor responded very well. There was a very noticable increase in power! The big bore sport quad, an 06' Honda 450R, reported a big gain in power. I have been using the blend in my EFI Sportsman 800. I love the extra power, better throttle response and the increase in km's I can travell on a tank.
We will be out for a run to the dunes this Sunday. (anyone want to join us?) I will be riding with two Can-Am 800's who will be running the same blend.

VP Racing Fuel is available in Hinton pure or custom blended to your specs. Available by the litre or in a 208L drum. Bring your gerry can or buy a cool VP Racing Fuel jug.

I have in stock.

- C-12, great all around fuel, 108 octane
- VP 110, works very well in engines under 14:1, 110 octane
- VP U4.2, much better than U4, designed for stock and modified two and four stroke engines, it's leaded, oxegenated, and smells great! 102 octane.

There are 60+ blends of VP fuel available. If there is something specific you are looking for please call Shawn in Hinton at 780-817-1695.
