Fuel gauge works on and off 07 F 1000

Noticed yesterday after riding my 07 F1000 for a while that the fuel gauge showed empty even though I had just filled it. Then a short while later a coupleof bars would appear then be gone again. Any thoughts?

there was a problem in 07 for the gas guage sending unit, if you are handy you can take tank out and sending unit out an bend the tab a tade and it will work better= its a lot of work tho
