This is a perfect example of my HUGE dislike of freestyle, as iam sure anyone with kids is. The proliferation of the stunts has pushed the envelope so far towards the extream its almost and invitation to suicide.
Here is a young man who doesent even own a sled talking about trying a backflip as soon as he gets one.
Kid, i beg you to procede with great caution, the guys that can pull these tricks with ease are freaks of nature, you are likely not. What they dont show you the skyrocketing number of severe orthopedic injurys that result from these stunts gone wrong, the months or years of physio or worse.
next year i will have a sled and i will be right in the backcountry!!! so excpect some stories from me next year!!! hahahaha
Let me know which areas you plan to hit so I can stay out of them next year. (lol)
Just an FYI...you couldn't get enough speed and height off a launch to get the required momentum to turn it over front ways even you you locked the track and pushed the bars at the perfect time. But hey, if you are gonna try it off a ramp in Saskatchewan, I'll drive out to video that for you.
Might even win a Darwin with that stunt! :d:d:d
the more i read the less i want to try the frontflip!!!! but i would love to try a backflip!!!

Build some ramps on the farm out there, practice your launches, track spin, and landings before you ever go for the big one, and make sure you have a soft landing area cause that not only takes big cahunas, but real world skill. Good chance you're gonna get seriously hurt trying this too so know that before you try working up to it. Hate to see you in a wheelchair for the rest of your life.
If you want to see what happens when you screw up, go to SLED PORN and see how bad they crash. This stuff isn't for most of us, unless you live in Alaska, have huge cash to play with as you destroy sleds and rack up huge hospital bills.
we have a ramp for big jumps!!! and some others for other stunts!! i will be as safe as possible!!! and i will work my way up!!! gonna need some dang good suspension!!!!!! but i think i could pull it off!! if i practiced enough and had a perfect ramp!!!
Should be easy to do with a Yamaha or Ski-Poo as they are so from heavy they almost flip forward on flat ground.
what about putting it in reverse when u leave the ramp and pinnin it? then the track is going the right way to help?
I give the guy for wanting to try, BUT the only thing we as a forum should be saying is DO NOT try this. I have rode a sled lots, and have some friends that are great riders, none have ever thought trying a back flip is a good idea. We do not need you out trying this in the backyard when your parents are not home. If you want to be a freestyle rider I suggest you work your way up in a place with some guys that can this.
yah no what dude you make sense!!!! i think i'll take your advice and give up on my dream for a while , at least until i can get a pro to teach me!!!! thanks.
for my money, every one will tell you it can't be done, until it gets done, don't let the nay sayers squash your dream, i say get it done, safely.
speed and height will be you best bet.
HIT IT PUSSY.
