Got back from forester Sunday night and the area looks like it would be great with some snow. All the meadows were very pounded out and the snow was pretty packed and hard up thunderwater and whirlpool but love the area.

rode yesterday, trail was great up to Welsch lakes turnoff after that it was a bit whooped as usual.
20+cm fresh at the cabin and the wind blew most of it into the trees. Got a ski run in above Dave White, blasted around the trees and had an outstanding day. Still lots left to rip up.

Rode Forester on mon. First time in there nice spot, just a dusting of new snow. Was Snowing and blowing when we left that evening. Today we went back, the trail from the wood shed in was drifted in pretty good. At the cabin there were no tracks to be seen from Mon. I would guess 10-12in of fresh. Visability was low, but we made it up Thunder Wall I think its called. Lakes Thunderwater and Whirlpool I think there called have lots of snow but no playing due to Visability/ Snowing when we left this evening heading back Wed if its clear. Forecasting Bluebird. Will let everyone know.

I was told that Radium isn't supporting the sled club very well or at all. Stay in Invermere, I usually stay at the Super 8 and it is a decent hotel, good restaurant attached too.

Well I'm sitting in the Prestige Hotel right now and they gave us a good price on a suite kitchen 2 king beds & pull out. $128 per nite. We had airbag go on truck tus, the ESSO next door had our part & fixed it next day. Last nite leaving for home antifreeze leak, going to the ESSO in 30 mins, when they open.
Nice town everyone is frendly.

Esso is one of the best garages in the valley.

Well don't mean to correct myself . but the girl at the esso this morning was a B. She should of stayed home. If you don't like to deal with ppl or sleders or out of towners, u should find a dif job. As for the Lead hand at the Esso was way dif then the one on tus. He wanted nothing to do with fixing our truck. he could careless that we were trying to get home for Xmas. The owner of the truck parked it in front of garage at 6am incase it don't start when they open at 9am. He told the girl what was wrong. Gave her the keys and a ph#. I went over there at 9am the truck was parked on the street. Lead hand didn't know what was wrong, he was standing in garage doing nothing. (they had no one else booked in) I explained what happened and left. came back at 10 am he was taking out garage, he seen us so he got the keys, truck no start. had to boost it. He put it in the bay and 30 - 45 mins later when he did look at it water pump. Will be here in am coming from Invermere 10 mins down the road. We came back at noon the pump was sitting bench old one still in mech no were to be found. He then showed up and everytime someone came in and asked about car work the girl call him away from his work to answer Q. About 2 pm the truck was ready. If I could get info on the owners of that place I would contact them. From 9am till 2 pm he took out garage and changed a water pump, there productivity.
Besides that everyone else in that area was great and planning another trip back there in new year.

Thanks to the boys that took us up on Catameran.

Fair enough, don't mean to bag on the Radium business' at all just nice when a town supports our sport.
I agree, our local governments still have no clue about the potential of properly marketing and supporting back country tourism. I was told Radium does not have the funds to plow the road out of town this year.

That is not the norm for them, they have had some bad luck this year. It would be good for you to call the owner and state your concerns respectfully. Everyone need to know when their business does not meet expectations, it will make them better.

I would but i can't find owner info. Any info would be Appreciated.
Call and ask for Jackie she is the owner, as I said please be respectful. It is a really tough time of year for her as her husband(the mechanic) died last January in an accident.

just a note on radium - everytime i've been there it has been great! nothing but good things to say about the hospitality. we always stay at the prestige, and gas up at the esso next door. always friendly and helpful!

my only problem with forester, i think about 75% of the time we come out with a dead sled (only once it was mine - see the rev being towed below!). but with that said, i love the place and there is a good chance i'll be back this week! wish me luck!!

bring on the snow!
