Which snowmobile club looks after Forester and do they have a website? I am interested in riding this area when I am in the Golden area.

If you take west side road from Invermere you will be ok. It is maintained and sanded to Twin Lakes, you only need to go to Dogleg(advised if you are pulling a 4 place and no chains). The road past the mill in Radium is no longer maintained as it was Canfor's responsibility but now the mill is closed and nobody is stepping up to deal with 9km of road!!!
Chains are standard in most toolboxes in these parts;)

Do you have directions for getting in from invermere? Are their any maps?

Thx

After a+w turn right onto Toby creek road follow across bridge and turn right(south) on West side road to Wilmer. Continue on West side until you hit the staging area at Dog Leg Lake if you are pulling an "alberta" edition trailer;). If you have a deck or reasonable sized trailer you can turn west at the Horsethief FSR and follow until you meet Forester FSR, then turn right(south) follow to staging area.
Temps were +10c in town today, B/C roads are going to be ICY bring chains.

From Invermere take the road that goes to Panorama. Just one the outside of town there is a right turn to Wilmer. Once in Wilmer turn right onto Main AVE. Main ave eventually turns into Westside Road. You can then take this road straight to Dogleg lake. Or once you hit the 4 way intersection you can turn left to the main staging area.

Rode Forester on 6th. Trail was great in and out! Up top they did a great job of extending the size of the cabin..Fire was going and the hot dogs were warm. Lots of fresh powder - 1-2 ft deep, but still needs a base. The creeks were still running and open in several places. Visibility was too poor to go over whirlpool except for one pull in the later afternoon. There wasn't much show up on the lakes, and it was all wind blown. Lots of rocks not covered over. You could still find some good snow down low in the trees and highmark to the south was good, easy yo make it up to the rocks.

The creek is open in many spots all year, with over 6' of snow there is plenty of base. Wind has been the biggest issue this year, it keeps stripping the snow off everything. Makes for great tree riding.
I heard sleds are getting up behind the Dave White hut on the east side of the creek, this in my mind is ski tour terrain. It may or may not be official but I'd like to ask sledders to leave this small spot to the human powered users. Plenty of space for everyone.

There was a pile of sleds trying to get up behind the cabin on Friday, don't know if they ever punched through however there is plenty of places to ride, in my opinion, skiers can have that area.

it's the one on the other side of the flats, the sled shed is the name of the cabin you see as you first get there.

They were trying to punch up above the Dave White Cabin but from the headwall side (towards Francis). There was a whole group of them (skiers) and not sure if there were able to get a trail up there. Northstar glacier would be above the main cabin, or sled shed as pano calls it wouldn't it?

they were just going up the gully there and skiing down through the trees...the gully also leads to the top of the headwall, it's just closer to the trees for skiing. Kind of works for everyone no? sledders on headwall, skiiers in the trees, powder for everyone. It's nowhere near the dave whyte hut, and there's no possible way to punch above dave whyte hut from there.

Was up skiing yesterday and there has definately been sleds climbing up the skin track behind the Dave White cabin. They made a bit of a mess but did not get too far.

You cannot get to the headwall from there, you may be thinking of the "hidden bowl" which is on lookers right of the headwall. There is another gulley that is lookers left of the cabin that leads into a small bowl that had sled tracks going up.

I have no issues with the bowls they're fair game but the trees are too tight for sleds behind the cabin, once a couple sleds trench it up it's nasty skiing.
