In a situation that I might get rid of a clay hill. Was wondering what the rates are and how it's calculated.

It's around 10$ a ton. So chances are you will be paying to get rid of it.

The money is in trucking and equipment.

If there is somebody desperate for fill maybe can split costs, But most of the time somebody will accept clean fill at best.

The guy that needs it is probably 200 yards away.

See how much he is willing to pay then.

Being so close to him you might be able to get a good price, because it doesn't need to be moved far.

Location is key, don’t know what it’s work but do know a guy that makes a good buck on just selling it. Would not be giving it away, just need to figure what it will cost him to get it else where and how quick he needs it. Just like everything supply and demand

Do you need/want the hill? Why not just do your neighbor a favor and let him come take the clay?

Depends how close to city he is. Anyone within about 20 mins of city will get free clay, depending on quantity and availability of dump sites will even get it spread for free. I would guess if he is in the know at all likely not willing to pay much, if anything for it. Even if he's 30-45 mins out of city, if you're willing to pay even $40/load you'll get dirt easily and that would likely be cheaper then paying someone to dig and haul, and pay for the dirt.
