Rancheria was the first business sold to civilians (my Grandparents) when the army pulled out after construction was completed on the highway. They sold it to a lady named Bev. Don't know if she still has it or not. We always stop and check it out whenever we are up there. Grandparents had a summer cabin on a lake up near there that is still in the family so we get up there quite often.
On a side note catmando. Be careful if you stop for coffee at Troy's garage and still need to make some miles, never know what will be in the pot

9 of us rode our Harleys up through Smithers, Dease Lake, Whitehorse, a day trip to Skagway and onto Dawson City a few years ago... great trip but all of the gravel had me wishing I wasn't on my new bike. The scenery was unreal and the wildlife also great. I will definitely do this trip again someday. We headed home towards Whitecourt through Watson Lake, Fort St. John etc... Two of us had another week of vacation to burn up so we took two days from FSJ and headed down to Seattle via Pemberton/Vancouver to catch a ball game and some dirt track races at Burlington, WA. Totally awesome trip!!!!
