This is just a rant......

We bought a new f 350 less than two weeks ago. It's our 'nice' truck. I have a ranger and the wife has a half ton for work.

Anyway, the truck (Nikki) has 1500 kms on it, and I get nailed with a rock on the highway headed home tonight. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Guy didn't clean the rocks out of his dials before he hit the highway.

How does a dent like this get fixed? It's about an inch above the windshield, an inch square, and badly creased. Not sure how to upload pics from my Android yet.

Dont know about this dent, but some body shops now use liquid nitrogen to shrink small dents.

if there is a crease in it a body shop probably wouldnt be able to pull it out without damaging the paint. sounds like it will be a whole roof repaint. if its brand new i'd be spending the money.

happened to me also, except with a garbage can. only 700km on it at the time.

It's down to the paint, and has a bad crease in it. I called the truck push for the company last night. These guys haul oil and water for us, so I'm hoping we can make it right. He's a stand up guy, so we shall see what happens.

So your saying the rock was big enough to be stuck between the duels, your lucky it didn't go thru the grill and rad or thru the windshield and your head.

I bought a new f-150 ecoboost in january. Truck didn't even have 3000km on it and some jack a$$ backed into it pushing the bumber into the quarter pannel. Twisted the bumper, cracked the plastic on it and shaved a healthy amount of paint off. FML

Well it sounds like it would need a body shop then. Hopefully the trucking company will look after you Be prepared for a expensive quote. Labour and materials are expensive

That frigging sucks dude. Part of why I bought one two years old, it won't be as painful. My trucks been hit twice in the past two weeks, dahm glad I don't got my new one yet. At least it's not in a overly noticeable place.

Thanks guys. It always sucks for that first scratch.

The wife actually ducked. She thought it was gonna hit her.

Try dry ice first, it's suppose to work well by shrinking the metal and pulling the dent out. Or go to Canadian tire and get some bondo body filler, I used some of that and if done right works fantastic and saves a chitload of money. Best of luck!!!

I feel your pain buddy, my 2012 ram got a golf ball sized rock chip on my way down to Banff. I think it had maybe 3000kms on it. Sucks when its smack dab in the middle of the windshield and then cracks even further...:nono:
