Your not alone...my M1000 looked like that when I fired it up 4 weeks ago. Wonder how long you would survive if you were sitting low down in there.

M series cats leak a bunch of oil during storage usually. Took my air box apart last summer and it was full of oil. If I can/if I remember I try to store it with a low level in the tank too try and minimize it. Mine usually smokes a bit the first time but not that bad lol

Bit deceiving. Was a nice afternoon so had the cat, a 72 JD 600, and a 74 evinrude quiet flight all running at once. decided to shut them down when I though I heard fire engines. Couldn't see the keys to turn them off.

mine leak a bit to,,heard it was pressure build up in the oil tank and pushes past the check valve or something..Mine smoke pretty good to when theyre cold,but maybe not as much in the picture.

ahhhhh, what a great smell the old fuel burning is! There should be an air freshner of it. Always the best on a warm august afternoon though.
