Does any one know the going rate for a semi load of birch?
You could try Sunshine Gardens, just North of St. Albert.
I bought all my birch from them, when I was living there. Good price's
Spruce is better,.. you guys have to buy your wood,.. man it's Xmas here all year for firewood.
they are no longer there. I think there is a shopping mall going up in their old location.

They do have another store, on St. Albert trail, and 137th Ave.
Still might be worth a try.
Why wood(see the pun ) you want birch over spruce?
not looking for cut and split. too many$$$$$ for that stuff. looking for long lengths
I much prefer Birch over spruce, burns cleaner, hotter, and the bark ignites easier.
In reAlity it doesnt burn hotter but cleaner yes. Pine is a good option too lotsa heat clean burn once set. And a huge abundancy of it with the beetle around. By hotter i dont mean btu per cord. We have used a heat gun while camping it does burn hotter. But birch does last longer though too you will burn less wood
