The ski hill report wasn't the same as the Rolling Hills. Talked to a buddy at the cabin and there were some zones that had over the hood pow (some wind blown into the trees) but honestly, the most snow fell on Monday night and Tuesday was our best snow where we rode. Yesterday, deep in the trees the snow was great, soft and carve able, and a lot of fun. A lot of hard packed in the open zones that everyone knows about!

I'll call but it isn't looking promising.........
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Scattered flurries possible. Alpine temperature low of -9C. Light to moderate northwest winds.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with sunny period. Alpine temperature high of -9C. Light westerly winds increasing to moderate along ridges.
FRIDAY: Cloudy with sunny period. Isolated flurries possible. Alpine temperatures reaching -5C. Light west winds.
SATURDAY: Mix of sun and cloud. Alpine temperatures reaching -2C with a freezing level around 1800m. Light to moderate west wind
Is what it is. Any day on the hill, in theory, is better than one at home/work haha.
Like I said, it'll be my last gas for the year more than likely. The days I've made it out so far have all been great so if I get one or two "meh" days I think I can deal. I usually use those for adventuring.

Lots of people staging at Coal Creek today. Trail was in great condition but the snow conditions at Marten left a bit to be desired. Lots of sun and wind affect combined with old buried tracks meant the snow was super inconsistent...hard on my old shoulders. Found a few good pockets and enjoyed the ride up the ridge but I would not go back there until we get a reload without wind.

Saturday morning was a blast, found some ok snow in a rather untouched area and had a good time gooning around. Tree picked a fight with me and won
Yesterday was warm and the snow set up like you'd imagine. Used the opportunity to check out some different spots to add to the rolodex for next season. Finally visited the notch, believe it or not I have never bothered/it was always too windy or low vis. Hell of a view!
Coal was just PACKED both mornings but hardly saw a soul up top.

Spent the day at the Notch with some Flatlanders yesterday. Staged at Morrissey and staging is still great; have to use the small trail as there is no snow on the road. No dirt showing on the trail when we went up nor when we came down. The road into Coal Creek is rough and the parking is on wood chips. Their was no dirt showing on the section past the kiosk. The main trails are in awesome shape and beautifully groomed all the way to the Notch. The snow is definitely starting to sink and there were rocks showing and some just below the surface that weren't showing but are now. The untracked is pretty well set up and it is definitely hero, go anywhere snow. Apparently, the snow on the roof of the Wranglers slid on Saturday but just as we pulled up another section slid. The chimney is buried in the pile of debris. Somebody had lit a fire in the stove (with no exterior chimney if you can imagine) and I threw out the burning sticks and put out the fire. if you are up there, please don't use the stove until the chimney is fixed.
