First ride today. Played it safe all day. Lots of landmines. Well worth to start to break in the new sled. Probed twice, one was 70cms the the other was 85cms. What we did see was the Morrisey road is PLOWED. Didn't make it to the wranglers cabin due to the plowed road. In all a great first day//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201116/36fb9e3d35b8219971d8ea0a61bda291.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201116/d341e9e3b36dd717f733599ea995780f.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201116/f6cc634d961de0e68acce4480b00c3a3.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201116/25b711df68599abb3c500bb41c0150d9.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201116/c1c10554872a424caaa74840a57dd972.jpg

Its plowed all the way up the Morrisey to the pipeline. We talked with some guys that came up Coal Creek and they say that wasn't plowed. When I checked the FSA website it gave tons of information on what's going on with the logging and pipeline work

We unloaded at Coal Creek today and ran into a skidder plowing the road from Paige’s to Matheson, hopefully will just be short term...maybe moving equipment between sites?? The snow wasn’t bad in the trees and places you know that are stump free but we need a lot more yet, lots of land mines out there.

I checked the FSA website, I guess Morrisey access is closed until mid Dec and Coal Creek is closed now until sometime in Jan.

So it looks like coming from Corbin and riding the bumpy pipeline is the only way until the new year then? How do all the creeks look on the pipeline? Are they cross able yet?

The problem is FSA works very hard with the other users but there is only so much they can do. If the pipeline needs work it gets done. I talked to a logger that came in to get propane and he said they tried to get the wood out but like last year it was too muddy and too dangerous so they wait till it freezes but that means its the same time that we use the area. They get it over us. I have been sledding this area for 24 years and don't ever remember area's not open to us. The flathead was great back then. Coal Creek was a blast and never had logging but times have changed and it effects every sledder that goes out to play,

Took the ol trail fire out up coal Creek today.
Staged at Paige's, since the road is plowed around the bend.
On the way down, dam near ran over three donkeys riding sleds up. Met them just past the bridge above the switch back.
If people are going to ride that far on a plowed road, at least have the brains to wave, and remember that vehicles have the right of way.
I've come out of the bush, and road on a plowed road for a bit until we could get off. We've moved over and stopped for vehicles. It can be done.
What made.it.even better, was to see it was a local to Fernie business and another truck with BC plates in the staging area 🙄. Funny we always here it's those dirty burtans that wreck it for everyone else

I have been trying to be independent and research the Fernie area and it seems talking to people here will probably be more helpful then trying to find updated news on websites

I am not familiar with Fernie at all , but Like mentioned on this thread I have read that coal creek will be a Jan 2021 open date.

Are the Corbin trails open for riding as of today ?

What trails if any are good enough to take a cruise

The Corbin Country Club was amalgamated with the Fernie club a few years ago. It is one organization now. So all the old Corbin trails are now under the umbrella of the FSA. All those trails are open and apparently, there is no logging in Corbin this year. Study the maps on the website and ask a lot of questions. You can ride from Corbin to the heart of the Fernie Clubs' tenure. As stated above, without the FSA being able to groom due to the logging roads being plowed, the Corbin access may be quite rough.
