Figured I would start a thread for us farmers to talk. This will be a thread to share ideas, ask questions we may have, share the years progress, and of course, whine about the weather. :d
We just hit 4900 acres seeded. Only 600 more to go!

how many acres do you farm total?

Will finish the last of 4500 acres tonight. We need rain badly!! Went from having to split the air cart about twenty times so we could pull everything out to begging for rain. Lol typical.
Haha I hear ya. It keeps raining here, so there's no shortage of moisture here.... yet.
I dont deal with canola but do buy a fair bit of organic spring wheat for local and European markets. Price has been strong but as of last week it took a tumble because Russia released it's export ban due to last years drought. Will be interesting to watch what happens this year.
It will definitely be an interesting year.
what are you guys using for drills?

we are still wet as can be. dries up enough to get almost a full day in the fields and then rains us back out. lol

We have a P2060 60 foot slim fold flexicoil with a P1060 flexicoil 430bushel air cart.

Couple years ago I pick up a sled for a buddy south of Fort Macloed . The fellow I got the sled from worked for a farmer that seeding over 100,000 acres. There was 16 combines lined up in a row - was impressed!

That would be Yak Heneger. He is the largest farmer in Canada. He told me that he has the personal cell number of the CEO of John Deere and he answers it when Yak calls. I heard he may have switched over to red now though. :(

It's supposed to be nice. But who knows. Today was supposed to be nice to, but it rained.
