Might be better off sitting in the dust waiting to germ as opposed to germinated but running out of juice really quickly, that’s where we are at now! Need rain desperately !

Yes we had a nice little rain, 3-4 10ths I’m guessing, don’t want to check the gauge for fear of disappointment

Talked to a good friend of mine that farms about 5 miles east of us. Has already started spraying ditches and grass areas for hoppers. Fug… what next?

Did you get some of this rain this afternoon? We got half inch so far 15 min south of lloyd
Was out looking at properties in the lashburn Maidstone area today and it was definitely damp all afternoon, raining off and on all afternoon.

Had a thunder boomer roll by this evening in the PA area tonight, been awhile since I felt the house shake like that.

Agronomist is out with my nephew today looking at crops to start the decision process on the crops. Won’t be writing off the canola till after June 25 so we dont have to reseed. You would have to go 3-4” down now probably to get anything to germinate it’s that dry. Most fields in our area have 10% germ on canola and 75% germ on HRS wheat. Peas and lentils all came up and have been sprayed but they were seeded end of April. Hoppers aren’t in the field yet but the ditches are polluted with them so may start spraying ditches
Asap.

Some pics of my wheat and canola crops. Wheat was about 75% germ end of first week in May and Invigor canola was May 15-16 and about 10% germ estimated. Lots of crops in area look worse than this. Working on 3/10” rain since snow. Peas and lentils all came up but are suffering and have been sprayed.
