Here's our guys...

Kacey-chow/retriever cross and Jackson-beagle/hound cross
Jackson will sit forever on the steps like that.

Kacey was a rescue. Got him at around 18mos and he's 11 now. We had a custom glass bead made for his collar. 'KC' with paw prints.
'Handsome'...that's my nickname for him.

The SPCA tried to discourage us from taking him -he was poorly trained, wouldn't walk on leash, chased cows...on and on. We 'had a feeling' as soon as we saw him, so we persisted and took him for a walk with our other dog who has since passed. We knew immediately he was for us! We couldn't have asked for a better dog and he couldn't ask for a better home! It's been a perfect match and we have had none of the issues they warned about. It just takes the right people with the right pets.

Basket full o' Beagle...this was my small dog's bed when we had her, but Jackson has taken a liking to it-but he really doesn't fit. We got him as a puppy, and because of his previous owner, I feel we were rescuing him ahead of time! He has a big personality with an even bigger bark-takes a bit to get used to the hound dog howl I tell ya.

I may look half asleep, but you just try to take my duck...I dare ya!

the spca told me that my dog wreck was "hard to controll, should not be around kids, and needed special attention".....he has since grown to be my GF's best friend, a truly loyal dog, protective of his house his owners and our other dog, cuddly (spoons with the old lady every night) and kids can hang off of his ears, tail, neck, legs, and he just plays........greatest dog, so much for their take on him

Lots of dogs out there that need good homes, mine both came from people who lived in the city and finally realized that they had neither the room nor time for them......I found both of mine on Kijiji and they worked out well, we are on an acreage as well with kids and horses and the dogs love it.

This is Mindy. She was a terrier-German Shepherd cross. We got her from the SPCA when she was about 3. She lived to be about 17.
