Found a few more issues due to that other side failing that I was afraid of. I pulled the gear box apart today and found two gears were worn. The center bolt was broken again. Inspected the chain that is good, no issues. When the axle moved on the other side due to bearing failure, it likely put some tension on the chain case and gears. Ive wanted to pull this apart and have an inspection before my next mountain trip. The only thing that is affected is the teeth on the reverse gear a bit. But If I can get the parts I my as well fix it. I have the lower bearing and will change that and the oil seals as well. Proper maintenance prevents problems at the hill or even an unexpected chopper ride for the sled. Moral of this post is to always check your bearings and If you have a high horsepower sled, change them regularly.
