Does anyone know if the garman 650’s have crtcc/privacy channels like bca radios do?

Stay off the VHF channels and just use the FRS/gmrs channels. If you don't know what the difference is then maybe you should stick with a BCA radio. If you don't know about the laws then do some research. Improper use of these radios will screw it up for everyone.

Yep they are bloody irritating, and lots dont know what it means.
Dealt with this on my last trip, they thought they were on the same channel when I told them channel 17, they were on channel 17 sub 20. I could hear them calling out to us, they could not hear us.

I like them, cuts down on chatter or the squelch opening on noise.

It won't change a programed channels. If you want to use CTCSS you need to enter all the info in a blank channel and save it or the easiest way is go into frequency mode and enter the info

To much chatter change channels. Too much static again change channels.

Re: Everything BaoFeng & VHF Radios

Long Thread- I guided with Ray for 8-10 years and he is a stand up guy who i trust with my life and love riding with. If your looking for a radio, buy it through him. He knows what he is doing and has put the time and care into choosing he best radio, mic and antenna for sledding, which usually means is works for everything else as well. As he says, he can make a cheaper package, but that is just what it will be, cheap and wnt last or stand up to what we all put them through. I also sell them for Ray here in Squamish since I know a lot of people and it is easier for people to grab them from me in squamish. He also loads them with all the right channels, i have already seen guys buy another option and not have very many channels and especially not the ones we use to get best range and less chatter. If anyone needs a radio contact ray or myself and we will set you up as quick as possible! Happy Riding!

I did that , I need too get a cable and do it myself , finding a lot of people getting frustrated trying too program them all together , get 2 of 3 with bca and 2 or 3 with Baofeng radios and it turns into a **** show every time !

Its pretty easy, choose a BCA channel on the Baofeng with no privacy(or privacy),.. if needed everything you need is on the BCA webite for frequencies.
