Phoned Shell tech support. There is NO ETOH in their premium fuel - Gold, 5% in Silver and 10% in Bronze. No law dictating ETOH in the premium and no future plans to add ETOH to the premium.

Ya from the reading I have done...a lot by the way SUPER BORING

If I am interpretting it correctly, the manufacturers have to blend 5% by volume...This is TOTAL volume, not for each and every grade. It sounds like many of the refineries are adding it to regular but not other grades as the percentage of volume is so much lower.

So even though it is mandated, it is NOT mandated to be in ALL grades...from what I can tell anyway...

Well i dont see the manufacturer of the machine selling fuel. They know the laws of what is available and mandated for fuel. So in no way can they void warranty when they know there is ethanol in the fuel. Ethanol burns cooler than gasoline acts as a gasline anti freeze and does aid the gasoline in burning cleaner. This is like gm or ford telling you that you have to use their filters and oil and that they can not do nor can they void warranty over it as long as it meets the standars set out by govt.
