Here we go again, my Summit 154x Etec has about 1300 kms on it and both primary clutch bushings are worn out and BRP has decided not to warranty them as they are a wear item. Doesn't the first year of the warranty cover bumper to bumper? This is 2 months of riding. If my wiper blades wore out on my truck at 1300 kms, would not the dealer replace them as they must be defective?

Very poor customer service BRP. Trust me this will cost you much more than the $100 (list) in parts that it would cost to make your customers happy.

Take em out yourself or the dealer?? Only reason I ask is that sometimes the dealer has better luck with parts that THEY pull out as opposed to taking busted parts into the dealership and trying to get warranty.

Just curious...

Took them the clutch to measure and tell me if there is a problem or not.

So does your sled have the plastic ones?? I think that the older brass ones from an 05 would fit. I'm sure one someone can chime in to verify. Anyways it would be a better fix.

Stock is 4 thou ..... anything more and that would be warranty. Just happened to my buddie same milage was 10 thou.

Mine was 10 thou. too, I thought it should be warranty but because I was honest and said I had 1300 km's on it, BRP said no.

Checking a warm motor or cold any differience Joe? Thanks.

no difference just pull your plugs out so its easy to turn over very slowly and take some scotchbrite to the crankend before you pul the dial indicator on it[this is just to make sure there isnt any small particles stuck to the stub to give you false readings] then pull the starter rope very slowly and watch indicator. as for your clutch bushings install the 2006 bushings and you wont have any more bushing problems, they were a brass material i believe/ and will be good to go for a long time.

Have any of you guys realized that BRP parts sites in the US show the part number for the 2006 bushing while the Canadian site shows the part number for the junky bushing. Also there is a rumor that BRP Canada will be lowering parts prices in the next few days due to the strong Canadian dollar. Hope this rumor is true.

Dont replace them with factory parts for same year, if you go to specialty sleds or maybe even the other guys have them you can get the parts that the 06's use and much much better and last longer i took my 06 1000 apart and still like new, so i did my 07 and 08..
