Working on a video while I type. should have it up tomorrow.

Dug a pit and there was 5' of well consolidated snow in the trees with no wind blown deposits. November crust is about 14" or 34 cm off the ground. It is a great base and as good as it is, it will just get better.

Still lots of landmines above Mear Lake but it is fun it one is careful and sort of knows where to go….
Thanks FS were coming up on the 26th again for a few days I'm hoping it keeps on dumping

Hows the conditions CRFX?

On sat/sun mear lake was pretty much ridden off. The first big slide going behind the lake had 140 cm but there were still a lot of rocks exposed by wind. I was able to find some fresh here and there but I also found the odd stump hiding below the surface. The trail was very rough but it was still worth it!

It's kept a secret
How far around the back of that secret area did you go and are the bigger rocks there covered up???

Everything's accessible. Most of the rocks are covered but I was still finding the odd one below the surface. Gotta be careful sidehilling. Better to keep the skis somewhat flat on the wind blown areas. For now at least.

Thanks!!! I'm thinking of heading there on the 28th, for a bit of a putt. LOL
Could I ride right from the Inn, or should I hit the staging area?

I was there last year too, and seen the same. Good snow, but badly wind swept.
I haven't been to fernie yet, but it does look good too.

You could ride from the Inn. I'd take the trail on the left where the highway changes to dirt road.

We didn't get a super deep snowfall like what I've seen in the pics from Fernie.

Thanks again. I'll cross the highway, putt through the camp ground and cross again just after it ends. From there head up.....
Have you been in crossing lakes yet?
