Here is an article about school age children voting in school. The article is done by the CBC so take it for what you think it is worth.

My 22 year old daughter said she wasn't going to vote, still lives at home and going to school. Asked her why she wasn't and she said she doesn't follow politics and would not be making an informed choice. Can't argue with her. Would rather have her not vote instead of just voting for someone because she was told to.
I fell into that camp for most of my 20's and early 30's and I am disgusted with myself for it. True that someone who isn't informed should probably not vote, but many of us are too quick to accept that as an excuse. The better question here is "why are you not informed enough to vote?" Many would argue there's really no excuse unless you lack the mental capacity.
This brings up another topic. I was always told that if you don’t vote you can’t bitch. Someone said on another thread about a NONE box to check off on the ballot because you didn’t agree with any of the options. So if you aren’t just being lazy, have done your homework and decide that you don’t like any one them then should you vote? Are you doing more harm by just throwing a vote out there?
I've voted in every election I've been eligible for (Fed, Prov, Munic) since I was 18 and it's not something I've ever taken lightly. Even in the midst of the socialist indoctrination that is University I was actually further right wing than I am today. I credit my sway towards the center to seeing the utter short term thinking of large public companies I have worked for.

Have to agree with this line of thinking. Sounds to me like people are making the choice not to be informed.

Glad to hear this. Saw an interview on one of the newscasts where they interviewed 2 first time voters at some college. They both decided to vote for Singh which is their right but their reason was that he was on a social media app called tick-tock. Therefore he was cool because that's where the young people are.
I seen where they were having mock elections through out schools. This atta be good. Anyone know what the results where?
Last year the had one and province wide the kids would of elected a conservative government!
