Re: Edmonton Rally Opposing the Bighorn Park Proposal - Reschedulled Tues Feb 26, 201
You have some really valid points, maybe even hit the nail on the head. My one question for you though is this, what’s your solution? These rally’s and convoys are a step in the right direction, but you’re saying it’s not enough. Instead of listing obstacles give us some solutions!!
Just trying to add some thought of constructive criticism... but what good is having a rally in a remote location? I am all for stopping any closures or allowing this environment garb to be forcefully shoved down our throats.
its like the oil and gas rig convoys, sorry but what a waste of time and diesel guys... unless you are driving your rigs all the way to Ottawa and parking them all on the streets there, plugging everything solid for them or unhooking a few worthless trailers you have out back and leaving them on parliament hill, NOBODY cares, at least the ones that call all the shots.
we need to take a few pages out of the Indian Affairs bible, when natives want something, they get it! Why? Because if government doesn't listen, they will shut everything down, close bridges, rails.. you name it, that's how you win your way and get heard. Remember Idle no More, that ridiculous sit down on the bridge got them a private audience with the PM in ONE day!
so what will happen with this rally? I'm by no means gods gifted smatest man, but I do know, it might get..maybe a minute on the local news, and government officials will just laugh. Think of how unpopular Notley is and NDP still do as they please.
i don't mean, run out and destroy stuff, but really stuff needs to be shut down, kill governments capacity to generate income and they will be running into each other screaming like chickens. I know it's drastic, but do any of you really think the government cares? They already knew you weren't their voter to begin with.
Everything a local/rural guy loves these days is under attack.. hunting, fishing, atv, farming, shooting, masculinity, we are all small individual groups with no voice, so we are getting manhandled, and will continue to be until there is fierce pushback.
so if many feel they are accomplishing something by signing e-petitions, or attending a rally in their back yard with likeminded friends, the writing is on the wall. So unless this rally speaker has ideas to force government to listen, I have my doubts.
so unless someone can chime in on how it's actually effective, my crew will sit this one out. I've been losing the gun rights battles for years too, so I'm a little tired of "hoping" government will listen to common sense.
