Ecoboost owners please read

We did a test on our 2016 v6 ecoboost with some tuning and air intake system we seen some pretty impressive results power and mpg gains. first test we did was of course bone stock. we did 200km of driving running shell 91 fuel at a speed of 105 km and averaged 13.5 l/100km. Power was decent for stock ecoboost. Next was with SCT X4 programmer and our max effort tune (22 psi of boost roughly 105 rwhp tune) obviously power was unreal over stock. MPG gains on the 200 km drive at 105 km went from 13.5 down to 11.2 l/100km and very smooth running. Next test we took tuning out and put the S&B Intake system in with oiled filter and repeated the test. we didn't see a huge mpg gain only 12.8 but still something power seemed noticeable. We then put the tuning in with the air box and seemed to run around 11.0 l/100. I've recently kept the tuning and air box in the truck and seem to be getting 1000-1050 km on a tank and roughly $130-140 o fill the tank with 91

we use a custom tune with our eco we had tried just canned tunes on the 15-16 models and didn't notice much gains so we went with a custom tune using the X4

Custom tunes are always the way to go, they will blow canned tunes away every time. Usually much smoothing running of a vehicle too, especially when combined with some breathing modifications on any vehicle.

I'm using the SCT Livewire TS+ has anybody been able to change the gauge display to show turbo boost pressure and exhaust temperature in the ecoboosts? I tried the SCT customer service line , but they were really no help. I'm starting to dig in to see who has the best customer rated tunes out there right now for the ecoboosts as well.

As far as custom tunes... LET, MPT, 5star and Unleashed seem to be top runners. I have a mild 87 MPT tune in right now. My favorite so far is my LET 91 performance tune...just waiting for a tune update from them. I haven't tried Unleashed yet... But its on my to do list.

we were righting down price at pump how many liters we added how many km on our gps to get the numbers we didn't use the lie o meter haha

I'd like to toss the water meth kit in this truck see what it does seen it on a 2013 and worked real well. Ya we have been running the MPT performance tune she definitely has some power.

Is this the truck you went to after your F350?
Also if you remove the tuner is it stored in the ECU so Ford can see history?

yes it is the one I went to after the F350. loved my F350 just didn't need it for much towing anymore. the programmer is still in there for roughly 10 key cycles roughly more. I'll be trying a new tune here this week. 1 is a 91 octane high boost (100 rwhp) with trans tuning in it and a economy 89 octane with trans tuning

What are the chances of your Ford dealer supporting warranty if a tuner is purchased through you?

Kind of snickering up my right sleeve. Posted my trucks mileage and some thoughts in the "horrible fuel mileage ecoboost" thread and just left it at that. Now that another knowledgeable owner has jumped in with the tuner debate, here is my numbers and thoughts. Intake system (brand doesn't matter) and custom tune for me (old guy, tows 10%) did the exact same gains around 10% in fuel economy empty. Leave the exhaust alone, not worth the money or noise. But towing suffered a bit probably due to increased boost under load. So I talked to the tuner dudes and they suggested an economy tune with trans shift mods. Voila! 13% eco gain both towing and empty. If you are looking for more zip, smoother running and good eco gain, 91 tune s the answer. Eco tune does work however you have to keep your foot out of it, use the cruise on flat ground, keep your speed down, use your foot intelligently when towing and use 5th. 35,000 stock, 155,000 tuned, happy old retired dude. Headed out over the big hills for a couple of weeks in the Chilliwack area for some dualsport riding or quad if the white stuff sticks around.

I'm curious to the cost of the parts for this too, whats the chip worth?
