After a much needed day of rest I'm back.

Best part of Eckville was hanging out with the you guys. Made the day a whole lot more fun. Thanks for letting me be a part of the team.

Rules at Eckville left a lot to be desired. I could not appreciate certain things like the fact a ceramic coated stock pipe moved you to improved. Then I get flack from tech for missing things if I'm going to be in improved. I then see what I'm racing against and I questions a lot of things. For instance, the one guy on a 600 that seemed to be winning in a lot of other (bigger) classes. Definitely not a race for the weekend trail rider looking to get out and see what he can do. I was surely one of very, very few with stock exhaust cans. Still, a day out on the sled having some fun is a good day. Not sure I'll be back....unless of course the Sledbunny Team is there...then it's worth going!!! Alberta Beach, Wetaskiwin, and other snow drags seem to be more fun and evenly matched.

There were other things that bothered me too. All this talk about helmets and tethers mandantory, that if your tether is not hooked to you and your caught, then you go home. They caught people, not one was sent home. Helmets...pretty bad example when the support crews were riding around on the the utility vehicles without helemets, including the kids that were riding too. Not good!

Some funny stuff....the real lightweight girl racing. She was tiny on those big sleds! Would have iked to see the weights on the scale with her on the sleds. Grass fire that started under one sled. That scared a few people. One guy left his Nos on and started the sled (no tether attached) and it almost went shooting right through the starting area. Made me jump!! By the look on the guys face I think he needed to change his shorts after that. Ron taking over 2200 pics....insane!

I should have a couple videos posted later on today.

Yup, was fun, but rules and clarity?? They just never enforced anything, other than making it difficult for the ones actually following the rules..... I'm with ya zrrr on that one!!!! Was good to be besides ya on that day, and it was a blast!

Just thought of a couple other funnies.....

Hearing my name called over and over for a race I wasn't supposed to be in. So I rusdh to the line with 600 only to see a row of 1000's beside me. Turns out they wanted #147 not 149. Couldn't read their own writing. Enjoyed the extra race though.

Having the tech show me in the rule book how light my ZR 800 is allowed to be for the class. Had a good laugh at that one, especially after he proceeds to tell me what I need to add to it for the class. For a heavy 8 year old sled it still does alright.
