I know Texas Is many miles away but with air travel it,s only a few hours.Should we be worried about this. Why is the government of the states and Canada allowing these people to come to the west.

Virus is not transmitted airborne, take a read: Transmission | Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever | CDC

Took a read and read about it before, but a nurse now has it that worked in a controlled environment so if she can get it why not every body on a plane. All this guy had to do was touch you or touch something that you touch and caboom big out break. And from what I know there is no vaccine or cure.

It is a scary situation but I am very interested to see what happens now that this has hit North America. Interesting to see how quickly a vaccine or even a cure will come about.

"Ebola spreads through close contact with a symptomatic person's bodily fluids, such as blood, sweat, vomit, feces, urine, saliva or semen. Those fluids must have an entry point, like a cut or scrape or someone touching the nose, mouth or eyes with contaminated hands, or being splashed. The World Health Organization says blood, feces and vomit are the most infectious fluids, while the virus is found in saliva mostly once patients are severely ill. The whole live virus has never been culled from sweat."

It Is a nasty, nasty virus. I heard on the radio that this woman who caught it perhaps touched her face, after treating the guy in Texas.
In the outbreak area, It spread quickly, probably because of the level of medical help,
knowledge.. etc. When you have thousands effected, how many more tens of thousands were exposed?

Canada is starting trials on healthy people now.I think snow and mud must have some pretty high conections.

problem is that the only agencies that will work on a cure or vaccine are government funded, unless the disease makes it's way over here, there is no money to be made on the drugs and unless there are huge profits to be made, the pharmaceutical industry just aint interested.

It was said that Western medicine does have the capability to contain it, in a somewhat controlled fashion. In a full blowin outbreak though, the system would be over run.

What happens when it is found out that north america DOES have a cure for it?? I would imagine every person who think they have it that can afford a one way plane ticket would crash the gates.

The CDC doesn't have a clue how to deal with it either, do some reading with the first doctors that contracted it and how things ACTUALLY went down. And now, they are saying it has potential to go airborne. Afterall, it has gone airborne before.

For starters, they need to stop all commercial travel out of the infected places. BUT, that could be considered racist... and we can't have that now....

But don't worry, the government will take care of you.
