Anyone one have an early build 18' Cat that has had the reflash done? Talked to my dealer and he showed me the paper from Cat about it but it doesn't say what the flash does?

Historically reflashes from AC are code for we made the original tune too hot and have to pull it back to minimize potential warrantee claims.

03’ f7 firecat is prime example. Thing was high strung and popped some motors from being lean, 04’ dumped too much fuel to compensate, 05 got better but diamond drive made them slower. 06’ was best tune.

I was told this as well, doesn't de tune but cleans it up. Unfortunately I will never be able to tell the difference, mine was flashed before I've rode it

Has anyone else noticed the kw rating for these new 800’s being lower than the suzuki 800?

Yes I agree on the de-tune reflash as I had a 14' C-Tech 6000 and Cat came with a reflash. I did the reflash and the sled ran rich on the bottom end, and lost some throttle response. Nobody at that time made a fuel controller for it so I took one from a 8000 Zuke motor, changed the clips and plugged it in, It worked great! I had an 02 sensor hooked up temporarily to it and adjusted the fuel and man did it come to life. (still have the sled and it runs great) that's why I ask if anyone did the re-flash cause I don't want to F$#@ up a good sled, I have 400 miles on mine now.
P.S. if you do the reflash, and it does make it worse, they CAN NOT and WILL NOT put it back. Thats what I was told by my dealer on my 6000 C-Tech.
