Made a trip to Sicamous and finally got to try out my new to me 850. The area is in need of a massive reload. Still quite a few open creeks and short cut off trees to watch out for. We rode the connector from Owls to blue and the trail was in decent shape considering. While we were there, parking was at 12 km with room for Sled decks and to place open trailer. If you are going up during a weekday, please bring an FSR radio as they are doing some logging up there. We talked to a driver and he said there have been numerous close calls with pick ups. I am not sure how much longer they are up there.

When the snow wasn’t so great, go vintage riding. At least that was the plan. The first time out with my Sicamous Speedster and we barely made it a kilometer from the truck. Turns out the fuel pump was full of ice, and now she’s ready to rip for next time.
nice to see Trevor working under the hood lol

we defiantly need more snow, the trails up are getting skinny and the the snow up top is not ideal lots of stumps rocks and open creeks. on sunday one of our guys tagged a small cut off tree and bent both his rails and broke his rail stiffeners. we have been hitting stuff under the snow pretty much every ride so be careful out there as we need a lot more snow.

So which area is safest to ride? Does Owlhead really only have +/-80cm?

Yes was great to meet you as well, Thanks for the help on the breakdown, turns out as Tex thought it was the battery replaced on warranty and had a Pull start installed :)
Met the infamous Billdozer on Saturday during his brief soiree with us.

I would say that's close to accurate, other than wind loading, from the limited exposure I had in Owlshead but was in Hunters and similar thin snow at all but higher elevations.

Blue was alright as far as "safe from hazards" goes. I did a lot of probing on Sunday and never found the 150 cm as stated on the grooming report. Probes were all between 125-135 and most were 125 cm. Most of the thick shafted broken little trees have all been uncovered as there has been a lot of traffic. Definitely need a reload.

Pretty sure I uncovered a large number of those trees in Blue and Quest over the last few weeks. Sicamous riding areas definitely need a reload.

Even with the 4-6" on the ground in the valley bottom, it was disappointing at elevation today. Blue had maybe 2" of fresh and vis was terrible. We were in the clouds for most of the day. Early finish.
That's too bad. I was really looking forward to riding Saturday. Had hoped 5" in town equaled a foot up top. Hopefully at least visibility will be better.

Well I have experienced a temperature inversion , but a snow inversion - Hmm - not so much !! Mother nature is taunting us with dusting of snow !
