My 2011 duramax went on the weekend looking for options
Repair replace
Sell as is
Buy new or slightly used
Fix not on rushed time after I get another truck

Look fwd go everyone’s thoughts thx

Also if someone could do or recommend a place to do the work

All depends what the truck is worth, what kind of shape and mileage?? My 2006 went down a couple years ago and I found a used, low mileage (so they claimed) motor on Kijiji for $3000 that panned out ok, but always taking a wrisk going that route. Had it installed for around $4500 total, still running strong...

Sorry to hear about your luck. I was going to rib you about it because I like my Cummins but it's too much of a hit to kick a guy when he is down. Hope you find your answer.

Take the motor out and see what can be salvaged. It’ll often be cheaper to get the same motor repaired vs buying a take or which you have no history on.

Reputable rebuilder as well, and ask if they use new parts or used parts for rebuilds.

My old man told me a story about when he had a truck that wouldn’t stop burning oil, took it to get motor freahened up. And when he got it back it burnt more oil then it did when he took it there. Took the place to small claims and the judge sided with the company becasuse they can legally use used parts when “rebuilding” a motor.

Dfcdiesel.Com I've heard great things. Plus 5 year 100 000km warranty
Ya no. I'd avoid these clowns. Sure they offer warranty, but their workmanship is a crap shoot. 3 - 6.7's in my buddies '12 Cummins all from then and he traded the truck in on a Denali after the 3rd one. Down for weeks each time.

Another buddy got 1800km out of his DFC rebuild and it's currently getting yanked for a piston issue.
