There's that too. Brand new off the lot the Chevy had more squeaks than the ram with 115k on itI have a new 18 Duramax love it but yes squeaks and drives me nuts how do you fix it?
Depends which one. For the console latch, I stuck some velcro above the latch. For the passenger door near the defrost vent, I used silicone spray. For the driver's seat squeak where the leather meets the hard plastic at your thigh, I just kept soaking it with armorall until it quit. For when your sunglasses rattle in the overhead sunglass holder, I leave my glass cleaner cloth in there to soften the rattle (why they don't add some material there is ridiculous). I could go on, but you will all come back and tell me I am being anal. Screw that, go buy any other vehicle that lists for 85k and ask if this would be acceptable. My 2010 Ford 6.4 had 180,000km on it and never had a rattle in the cab. Ford will be the next purchase. Chev can go screw themselves until they fix some quality issues.I have a new 18 Duramax love it but yes squeaks and drives me nuts how do you fix it?

I picked up a '19 HC coming from a '14 Cummins. Ride is great, tranny is smooth. I think that's where it ends for myself over a ram. Paint is paper thin. I had the same 10k ish load on it that I had on the Cummins and it doesn't pull it as well. Full disclaimer, the ram was deleted and running a small tune when towing but it had more grunt than the dmax stock. Ram had more options in a Laramie than the HC does as well. If I could go back I would of picked another ram
Is your buddy still giving out good deals? Haha. I'm actually looking to get back into a ramI found the same results, was dead set on buying an 18 3500 high country duramax, researched for a year or so, drove my buddies etc. and was ready for a change as I have been running dodge since 05. My buddy at dodge convinced me to come check out the deals on the 18 ram 3500's and to take one for the weekend. I went and test drove a new high country while I had the 18 ram and was not impressed with the duramax. Other than a more HP seat of the pants acceleration from the duramax it just didn't feel near as capable, the interior seemed cheap and very plain and was lacking on options compared to the ram limited I was driving. Had they been the same price I may have still bought the duramax just because I wanted a change in scenery so to speak, but when Dodge came in at $10,000 less it was a no brainer to stick with what I know

Would you mind sharing what dealer is selling dodges for $10k less than an equivalent Duramax? In my area (rocky/red deer) it's usually quite the opposite. I don't run high country/Denali or Limited's as most of the extra options are fkn useless to me and I actually use them for a truck, not a car with a sled deck. Seeing a sticker north of $90k makes me puke in my mouth but to each their own. I find a nicely loaded GM SLE with leather or a base Laramie to have more than enough options and in that trim level neither has a "cheap" feel, its all the fake plastic chrome and wood grain in the high country pos that makes it feel cheap. As for your comment to the dodge feeling more capable, Ive gone back and forth between the Duramax and Cummins every few years since '04 and using these trucks at work to haul every day, you couldn't be more wrong, yes, there was a time not long ago that the Cummins was superior, 2010-2014 but since the new gm chassis was released in '15 they are in fact the more capable one and now combined with the added power of the L5P in 17,18,19, it's no comparison. The only downside to the L5P is the lack of delete options but now the '19 dodges are "undeleteable" as well apparently, so that argument is irrelevant. I hope Ram has something up there sleeve for 2020 cuz I'm not a fan of the 2020 Duramax, looks like a Toyota. All in all I figure as long as guy isn't driving a blue oval it's all good, Enjoy the new Cummins.
I never said it wasnt as capable as I never got to tow with either before I bought but it just felt less capable and less of a truck compared to the ram, felt softer or something cant really explain it, it felt cheaper, had more creaks and groans, the cab wasnt as nice and quiet, had less options from top trim to top trim and yes the duramax had the seat of the pants horsepower and would roast the cummins in a drag race im sure. But Im buying a diesel to tow and not looking for a sportster so to speak. The 18 3500 high country was discounted down to $80k from $92k, best price I could get, the 18 ram limited was $70k down from $92k and thats in whitecourt a block from my house. Another issue that was gonna rear its head in the near future was on the high country I would have to lift it to fit any bigger tire underneath it due to the stupid ugly square wheel wells, on the ram I could go bigger without doing a damn thing which is a bonus for me as I think lifted trucks are the gayest thing since white oakleys. Both trucks were great and yes as long as it isnt the blue oval junk we are all winners LOL
