Picked up a DJI mini. Under 250 grams. Better for in town.
Use big drone out in the country

Anyone use the dji mini?
That was my first one, upgraded to the mini 2. Just be careful in the wind with it, doesn't take much to blow away. Put the prop guards on and fly around in the house.

Sounds good thanks.
I have the big Inspire 2 for farms and acreages.
I will fly on nice days no wind.

The Mini2 is rated up to 38 km/h winds, its actually pretty impressive what it can do, as long is it had a good GPS fix the wind stabilization works very well. I bought one this summer, I'm happy with it, taken some pretty cool shots and videos with it, even had it in the mountains on days when it was probably too windy to fly, but I got my pictures and still got it back.

I know that this is an old thread and I may be late to the party but I finally got a decent introductory drone. My wife was wondering what to get me for my birthday and I suggest a drone thinking it would be vetoed. I ended up with a DJI Mini 3. I'm looking forward to giving it a try but the wind has been a bit much lately when I would have an opportunity to fly. So, to pass the time I've been watching a lot of videos, reading a lot of user forums and groups, and trying to learn as much as I can before taking it out. Hopefully the wind lets up soon before the summer is over!

Very cool, welcome to the Drone thread:) I have not much flying time this year either due to work/wind. I have a DGI Air2 dedicated tablet and invested in a custom holder with neck lanyard as it helps alot when navigating. Thing is amazing and fast with 4k and up to 8k vid and approx 15km distance range it is an investment and an amazing learning curve/experience. Go have some fun/enjoyment you won't be dissapointed, don't worry about crashing so much as props are realatively in expensive, i did a few times into a fence but all was good except a prop or 2.

There use to be a training segment in the app itself. Where you can virtually practice flying the drone, without actually flying it. To get familiar with the controls.

I've been seeing a lot about this. Hopefully we will be good up here!
Unlike the USA, Canada is mostly G airspace from what i have learned while getting my license fort the drone. With so many airports/heliports etc.. in the USA 1 has to be especially careful when flying, the fines up here and in the US are astronomical if you are caught without permission or it brings a airplane down. Of course that is only for now, because some are registered and some not depending on weight. Pretty soon Slamazon will be using these to deliver i bet lol!

I still haven't had a chance to get mine out. Its been so damn windy, and when its not, I'm busy with other stuff like watching the Oilers games. Soon I hope!
