Seems they relaxed the drone fly areas on certain models of drones.. Allows for some models to fly in restricted airspace without all the issues like before.

That is good news.

Just bought the Mavic Pro Platinum flymore package. Drone will be used mostly at lake Wabamun. I should try to be legal. Is there any links on study info (to pass test) and the site for online license?

I didn't study anything. Paid my $10 and passed the exam with 74%.

Got mine too. Advanced test next month.( Needed to fly within 100'of people).

I thought it was odd all the distance questions were in feet not metres.

My son is flying in from Australia and wants to bring his drone. He does not require a license there. Can he legally bring his drone into Canada now without a license to fly here?

he should be able to bring it in no problem. But he would still need to do the online exam. best to do that before he leaves i would say

Yeah as far as I can tell you can buy one without the license, you just can’t fly it without.

Anyone go for their advanced license? I did the test for the fun of it but don't think l have the time or can justify the expense of doing the other steps.

I have been flying my Inspire 2 a lot.

But a few weeks ago it had error codes and would not fly. Turns out one of the motors had a higher amp draw and it burnt out the circuit board of the computer. I had the circuit board and computer replaced, and also replaced all 4 motors

I sent it to DJI in California to get fixed.

Anyone know now a DJI repair place in Canada for future repairs or service.
