I went through two tracks on my 17 one at 700km next one at 2000, very careful with them both no signs of damage on lugs, no racing on icy trails. I personally think BRP should look into making these tracks a little more durable.

I thought you were supposed to be able to select this track during snowcheck, but maybe it got delayed till next year...

Seems like the sliders are breaking the fiberglass rods and then she comes unglued.

i was worried about something like this when i snowchecked mine last year. They are like how apple used to be with the each year its thinner until they started busting and bending. 3 inch lug on an every thinning track. I ended up getting the 3 inch track though cause everyone was saying to get it. I have been lucky so far though no issues but if it does happen to me I am going to a 2.5 inch track again.

with that 3 inch track i always make sure to lift the track off the ground when at home. Also with a 165 inch long track and my short single place sled deck I hate seeing like only like half a foot of the track being supported and the rest hanging off the back (it might not be that bad)

de-laminating at the slider/track clip is a sure indication of overheated sliders

So what is the best replacement? Just bought a g4 with a camso 2.8 on it and not super impressed so far. Clutching is WAY off in this sled so maybe hard to know if it’s the track or not.

That bottom picture indicates max KMH of 121 not odometer of 121

121 km/h? I'm guessing that track speed isn't pulling a hill in snow. Up on the Renshaw trail, I found a few Doo track paddles laying around. Heat is whats killing the tracks. I keep it between 60 and 70 km/h on the trail. Track is barely warm on groomed trail. For the other guys with new sleds. Also found my track was way too tight from the dealer when I picked it up. Makes me wonder why I have to pay for the PDI. Backed it out a 1/4" on the adjusters. It's now as loose as my T3. It was a difference of two hands to spin the track to one hand. 350 kms on first trip out and track didn't stretch any more than where I set it.

On another note... Ron's 17 G4 has probably over 6000 kms on it and he hasn't lost a paddle. He keeps his speed down on the trails though.

Ya if you have a 3” track and like to pretend your snow cross racer on the trails you will loose paddles, even my t3 has lost paddles. Some pictures on here it’s from hitting stumps and rocks. The paddle just looks broke off. The ones that look peeled off for inches from paddle are delaminated. Used to happen on the 2.5 camoplast tracks backed by yammi power. Couldn’t kill them tracks on the 800s back in the day.

Some things I find interesting is that the 3” hates speed that much more than the 2.5”.
Is it the heat from snow not getting to the clips or the weight of the lug helping throw them off?
One thing I have noticed in person is the my brother and I have 163” t3s. He runs stock sliders, my sled has hyfax on and the hyfax makes the clips a lot hotter than the sliders do on an icy trail with the scratchers down.

What about fully clipped track?
The old Camo was fully clipped and turned a lot easier in my findings .
If it turns easier it has less friction .

I wonder if that is something to try. fully clipped should slow heat transfer. I do remember finishing adding the clips to fully clip tracks for longevity long time and several sleds ago lol.

I will never understand this. Every time I’m in a parking lot I just shake my head when I hear brappp brapppp brapppppppp on offf on off on offf bull**** and full pin out of the parking lot spin spin spin spinning up the trail and then repeat over and over and over the whole way up the trail lol I’ve actually pulled up to people after they have done this and you should see the looks I get when I say something to them about how they ride there sleds but honestly it happens ALL the time. These sleds are fuel injected and a nice steady throttle is actually WAYYY better then this on off full pin team GGB bullshat
I wish I could love this post 5 more times. Christmas time is the worst, everyone out for the 1st trip and champing at the bit. My favourites are the ones that race off pull pin just destroying the groomed trail and then you pass them 6 or 12km up the trail pulled over taking a break. My next favourites are the ones that just slow down a bit as they go passed a stopped group and then hammer it full pin once they are 3' past. Ok I get it buddy you have a can and you're the toughest MF'er on the hill, enjoy the cabin.

well ill be dammed, i thought that was the odometer... lol i gotta say thats impressive cause it sure downt feel like this this goes anywhere near that fast. as for the trail i never race up the mountain, i almost lost my life like that. I do like 50 max. Im the guy that everyone likes to blow his eardrums out when they go by cause they are mad someone would be going that slow on the trail... thats me.
