This is what happens when u try and be cool and do a smoke show on the last day of school. i saved my performing all year for this one day, when it was going to be spectacular. needless to say, i never did get to put on a good smoke show before i left my high school. all i ended up doing was driving home in 4x4

I remember a smoke show in a 69 Camero in high school........bang and the drive shaft came through the floor behind th front seat! (must install drive shaft loops! lol) my last day of school I left a huge cloud of smoke with the Vette! just had my 20 year reuion this summer......everyone "MADE" me match the burn out in the vette......so I was driving the big block (work truck).....well to say the least, I had to buy new tires before the snow came! LOL

Got to love the smoke shows!

Aluminum drive shafts are that thin walled? I would assume a thicker wall would be needed to transmit the torque properly, or is this an aftermarket peice for weight saving?

Correct, aftermarket ones are thicker. Got one on my 68 beaumont. The one in. The picture is a oe piece which is thin but has a carbon fiber wrap embedded in the drive shaft it self to make it lighter for gas milage. But over years or rock abuse the cf decas and does not hold its strength. Other down side is u cannot shorten them from what i know because of the carbonfiber

well its stock on a 97 gmc half ton z71. and yeah after 350 000km she was pretty corroded and had visible holes in it. replaced it with a steel one. just glad it happened when it did not while i was tugging on the boat to try and get the boat trailer wheels back onto the cement while in the boat launch..... lol that would have been a sight to see
