I have an older ABS Escape 15. Looking to replace it at some point, might try a vario.

I still haven't bought an avy pack, the one I wanted was the Avi-Vest until I recently saw this one being developed called jetforce. looks very interesting, coming out for sale in the fall of this year.

I ride by myself most of the time and find these devices combersome.

Getting one this year. Rode with everything except a avy bag and skipped a few weekends due to high avalanche warnings.

If you wear a backpack, why wouldn't it be a avy bag?? The cost is worth it! Wouldn't go without it. I use snow pulse. Comfy and roomy enough for some gear and food.

Hell Yes. Almost all ridders in our 12 person group are using any avy pack of some sort for 4 years now. Also every one has taken an avy course. The classroom and on the hill. Should do a refresher course !!!!

True that, I rode the mountains for 15+ years with out one. I wear one now, but they didn't even exist back in the day.

That is the true for sure. Been going to the mountains since 1989 . Now that is dating myself :d Never needed an avy bag yet but why not play it safe. Better to have one and not use it then to need it and not have one.

I wear a snowpulse highmark II.
Just a reminder to everyone to go through and inspect your avy gear before you ride including batteries for beacons, shovel and probe. It's also a good idea taking a course on how to use all your equipment. An emergency is no time to try and figure out how your gear works.

Well i finally bit the bullet and bought an Avi bag, I purchased a ABS Vario 15L, due to the dual air bag and it fits great, many years in the mountains, but all the Avi info these days, and all the reports from fellow riders it's good to see everybody doing there part to be safe.
