15 grand for sled 1000 for suit helmut goggles boots glove,etc... and that is being modest. Another 500 for probe shovel and beacon. Sooo another 700 - 1200 pending on preference for an avy pack that has been studied extensively and proven to "GREATLY" improve your survival rate in an avalanche. This shouldnt even be questioned. Great post SBR just wish more people would see this an get on board.

Snowpulse here. For the guys who are looking for one I have a couple buddies who are selling them......only used a couple times. Both are Snowpulse Highmarks. PM if anyone's interested.

I'll have one before I ride this year as well if all works out on a pending deal on a used one. If not I will just buy a new one. Either way I think I've already been on too many rides without one.

I am done with the mountains, i am going to stick to the trees, it is more fun anyway and one heck of a lot more challenging. To heck with the whiteouts, cliffs, cravas's and avalanches.

I dont wear one as of right now, mainly because i stay away from the massive hills and mostly ride trees,,, not sayin avys dont occur there but the risk is substantionally lower,,,all said i will be pickin one up in the future sometime.

Don't have them yet....... Know several that have been involved in avies and never survived when they were deployed. Also know of several that were caught and never had time to react to deploy the bags before being buried and did survive.

Just throwing that out there

best prevention is to know and steer clear..........take an avy course!!!!
