My friend bought a teth air, then returned it and is running a polaris cord one. I think he thought if you got sucked in the track or sleds upside down or whatever it could stay on. But couldnt you set it so if you hand was 6" away from your grip it would turn off?

A guy i ride with got his arm sucked in between the rails and the track, i wasnt there but i think they cut the track and his arm got a bad infection later and they had to split it open.

I ran one on my iq. Will run one on my pro, polaris one is plug and play, there is no excuse.

Both my daughter and I rolled our sleds the same day. I didn't see her roll over but got there as she was trying to plug the tether back in. The sled went right over top of her. My roll over the sled went over and pinned the throttle as it was upside down. I was down hill and watched as the track was spinning like a SOB coming at me. I was in a position so my feet were up hill so I started to get ready to try and push it away, then the tether killed it. I think I pooped myself a little. My daughter caught it on camera.

Our group all wear tethers, for 3 reasons: #1: Personal safety, #2: Safety for those around you, and a distant #3: Protection of the sled. Sled parts are easy to come by and cheap compared to limbs or life. I have two brand new Teth-Air units that I bought thing I would use them, but in the end I decided to stay with the mechanical (simple) unit. If anyone's interested, PM me - they are brand new and in the boxes.

Never start the sled without one on. When I was young had a friend's dad killed when starting sled for him. We were little lads back then. Throttle stuck wide open, he got caught up in sled and ran into tree. Hit his head. RIP. I wrap mine around my throttle side wrist.

That video gave me the chills, makes me damn happy my sled came with one and damn rights I'm wearing it... I sent the video to my dad to sell him on the idea for his fleet, he wants a teth-air for the boat now!
