Don't be so CHEAP!!!
You spend $15.000 on a new Quad/Sled and then you won't buy a tow rope to pull it home...just doesn't make sense???
LOL

I picked up a 1 3/4" x 25' tow strap with steel hooks at each end from princess auto for under $10.
It works great and was real handy when I got high centered in the middle of a water hole I just through out the tow strap and got a pull never even got off my quad. I won't go out without one now!
Thanks

For the sledding season we carry the same tow ropes, they work great for hauling home broken units like summitrics "thunderbunny".

Well what good does that do? If the guy is stuck, you probably will be too if you are only 6" away?!!?

Honey, if a Honda's stuck I won't GET 6 inches away from him. He can stay stuck, unless he talks nicely to me........

Seriously, if anyone is stuck, I'll help winch them out regardless of brand. It could happen to anyone.

bought 400 ft of blue amsteel rope and and made 2 50 ft pulling ropes, and also replaced the wire rope on our 3 quad winches, so far havn't used the extra pulling rope, but that amsteel on the winch sure pulls nice. also have a 15 ft tow rope from princess auto for wraping around trees if needed. will likely take the pulling ropes with the sleds along with the snow bunjie for the deep stuff. cant wait for snow bring it on.

Check out they have all sizes of amsteel synthetic rope in various lengths, I picked up a 25' 3/16 amd a 35' 1/4" with loops on both end for under $60 shipped great for towing and winch extension plus very light weight and easy to store.

On the weekend I found myself using my winch more as a tow rope they a winch now I am thinking of buying a tow rope and carrying it on the quad then I could also pull forward instead of in reverse.

Any of you carry a tow rope?
What do you think?
Thanks
Some of the 1st things I bought!! I have a 2" X 6' towstrap (tree saver), a 2" X 20' towstrap and I bought a 100' X 1/4" winch cable with the req'd hooks etc, from Princess Auto, so I have 126' of tow strap capability, plus the winch cable. It also allows me to run a snatch block too.
IMHO, a must have!!

good tip for sledders: pack a good 50' + rope and a pulley if you need to haul a sled out tie the pulley on the dead sled run the rope through to 2 other sleds. you can pull some pretty good hills this way. if one sled falls behind the other just backs off the throttle a little. works good on the trail as well cause you can still pull with 2 and run single file if needed

ya i carry a rope on both my machines and they both have a winch. It is so much easier alot of time to have a rope, and exactly its way easier to pull when some can pull you or vise versa by driving forward. I just wrap mine around the back of the machine or keep in the seat box. As for a brand just go to a hardware store or anything like that and get some 1" rope. and put some hooks with safety latches on them. That will work just fine. Ive been doin that for years
