I fell of my slide and long story short she hit a tree goin about 30km/h i swear i saw the track lift a little when she hit.
Tree was 8-9" and went right into the left a arm between the ski and the sled and i was worried but somehow she came out with just a little scratch on the hood..

Well guys I hate to say it but the bulkhead brace is just a band aide fix, over the holidays I was riding my 2017 850 which had the bulkhead brace update dealer installed. I was doing between 20-25 km/h carving up the fresh pow along the edges of a lake when all of a sudden my left ski hit a rock buried underneath the snow. I went ass over tea kettle, at first look it appeared that the upper left a-arm was bent, after getting back on the sled I noticed that the left ski was pushed back about 1". Took the sled in for it's 10 hour service to the local dealer, at first they agreed it was just the upper a-arm, couple days later I get a phone call and am told the s-module is cracked and t would be around $2000, I asked about the e-module and was told no just the s-module. So I did some research and figured it would not be too hard to replace the s-module if it was not covered under warranty. Late last week I get a phone call from the dealer and he tells me that BRP will not be covering it under warranty, I asked how much to repair and was now told between $3000 - $5000 and that the s- module was broken, the bulkhead brace was broken and the e-module was cracked. When I bought the sled I was told by the dealer that the bulkhead brace had solved the problem of bulkheads breaking. BRP's last offer was to cover 1/3 of the parts, dealer would cover 1/3 of parts and I would be on the hook for /3 of parts and the $2500 - $3000 in labor, thanks BRP!! I really don't want to mention which dealer in Calgary I was dealing with but I am sure you all can figure it out. History of Skidoo sleds I have owned 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and a wonderful 2017 which will be my last BRP product!!! Picking a couple Polaris's later this week and going riding. Anyone with an 850 that thinks they are safe, think again. Anyone considering a 850 might want to reconsider.

25-30hrs labor is about what they charge? is that correct?

Sorry about your luck TurboNytro! Sucks when you are facing a big bill... count yourself lucky you are getting any help. I did pretty much the same thing on my Nytro years ago and found the right ski about 1 to 2" behind when loading it onto the deck. About $2800 later had a new subframe also from hitting a rock at relatively slow speed. My suggestions would be take the 1/3 and be happy! I don't think this is a 850 issue as much as it is an "unlucky rock issue"...

Ya I've had 2 850 in the shop, one 17 and one 18

Both had lower and upper arm issues, one broke both lower tubes right off, bent the shock to a c

Looked for e and s module damage and none found

Installed it back together and was pretty straight

How can u expect brp to cover hitting stuff that's not meant to be hit

Hilarious hey Tex! Smashed a rock with one ski at 30kmh, it catches hard enough to send the guy flying, then wonders why aluminum broke?? Some people I tell ya. They expect these aluminum sleds to take a nuclear blast.

Go drive your car into a rock at 30kmh with your seat belt off and let me know what happens. Damn Ford now pay for my car parts!

Now I'll say of the ski-skeg hits a rock in the road ( part of the road face) and bends stuff, the ski is meant to be on snow but pretty much any riding anywhere it can happen

If it bends then, then might be too weak in the modules

I think a lot of people expect a lot from a 500lb sled hitting a stationary object at any speed. I think poster is getting a brutal quote as well on a S Module. Just my observation.

Well you would think hitting something with your ski would not cripple everything in it's path, yes maybe an a-arm but to take out everything? Especially when they release the bulkhead brace that was suppose to be the fix of all fixes? And I can tell you this much my a-arm looks nothing like your picture. Lower a-arm does not even have a scratch on it.

I hit a rock at no more than 15kmh on my T3, sidehilling. Sled dead stopped, I went flying. $6000 damage. A arms, S and E mod etc. The ski was 7" behind the other.

I have bounced off trees and rocks harder on both a 2014 and 2015 and had no damage, the point I was trying to get a cross is dealers are telling guys that they are safe with this bulkhead brace when clearly they are not. Yes I agree sleds are not meant to hit stuff, but **** happens and it should not cripple everything in it's path. Clearly the modules are weak and a have design flaw. So BRP releases the bulkhead brace and has dealers tell customers the bulkhead epidemic has been resolved so they can sell the remainder of the 2017.
