In Sicamous, BC this weekend my 15 pro (stock except for clutching, gear down kit and fix kit 2000 miles ago) hit DET 13 times on the PTO side and 2 times on the MAG side (hooked up to computer at loca polaris dealer saturday night). Sled would come to a quick hault, yellow check engine light would come on, det comes across the gauge then shut off. Happened on the trail, in the trees and in the alpine, typically around 7000 rpm with the sled running at normal operating temp of 125. Checked all the spark plug wires and caps, they look good. Replaced plugs, replaced fuel filter and was still hitting DET on sunday. Has anyone experienced this and found what was causing the issue. My thoughts are

- Loose/smooth belt causing clutch to over rev. Unlikely
- Bad fuel, however I put about 60 litres of shell premium in this weekend and still an issue so its unlikely as well
- Sticky exhaust valves or broken VES springs? Mine have 2000 miles on them.
- Fuel Pump?
- Faulty DET sensor? Havent heard of these being an issue in 13-15 pros

Please let me know what you think or if I am missing anything. Thanks

What clutching is in it ?

Blue/pink primary spring ( 100 miles on it) 62 gram weights and Karl's cycle helix 62 degree angle. I've had this setup all season long but just changed my helix angle before this trip to the shallower 60 degree angle.

Also worth noting I've been running a GGB can all season and changed it out before this trip as it was getting to loud, put stock back on. Should be the problem tho

Have you tried ethanol mode to see if it helps?

My buddies 13' pro started doing this after we rebuilt the top end, we've tried everything to figure it out except replacing the sensor. He spoke to the dealer and they said this is a common problem on some of the sleds and they have a tough time fixing it. We ended up unplugging his on the last couple rides. If the sensor isn't to the right torque spec it'll set it off, we also adjusted tps when we did the rebuild which can also set it off.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was?

Lol think I'm going to try a bunch of troubleshooting before resorting to that for my next trip

Well, finally got around to looking at it last night, look what I found!! Looks like the pipe has been moving for a while and getting cut by the frame. My guess is inconsistent back pressure has been causing the DET. Secondly I found that one of my exhaust valves is leaking more than the other, to stainless cap that screws in was loose which could of also made timing off? Do you guys think the reason the pipe and sensor are so white is because of the additional air coming in through the crack in he pipe? Front side of the pistons look very white as well through the EV openings

Found last night that the mag side EV blow off port was completely plugged. So I complete clean the valves them selves, put new belows and springs in. Going to run it today and see if it makes a difference. Also putting a spare pipe on

When my '13 pro was doing this it ended up being the exhaust temp sensor failing. Replaced it and has been good ever since. It would have showed up on digital wrench though.
