deleting a 2017 f-350

Motor has 16xxx km on it now and is prob not fully broken in heard some diesels can be 30xxx plus to break in. And thanks a few people have sent pms with some good info and recomendations going to use proven diesel tunes.

On our heavy haul trucks we delete them all. We do run them 20,000km first to make sure there is no issues before we do it. In the next 50,000km the fuel savings pay for the delete and the cost to put it back on if it happened. The trucks have way more power and the fuel is cut in half no ****ing joke. Without the delete pulling a 40 wheel combo the truck couldn't get over 90km/hr when nutted, after it was no problem.

The costs we had to deal with broke down trucks due to this emission **** made it a no brainer.

We did a smaller picker truck and found it didnt make much of a difference on both fuel and power, in hindsight probably wouldnt do that one again.

I thought emissions isn't on the cvip yet? I didn't see it on mine last year that I can recall. I'm getting around 38-40L /100km on a Peterbilt 348 with 8.9L.

No emmision requirments here in sask that i no of yet, alot of deleted semis and farm equipment floating around. Our 2013 pete was brutal before deleted shoulda stuck with 07 and older models

I'm running a stock 17 F350 with level kit and 35's. Couple buddies with same truck have gone with the ez-link. Their mileage hasn't improved enough to sway me to delete yet. I'm seeing 15-17L/100km in the city and as low as 12-14L/100km on the highway empty. I'm sure there is a different tune you can download that would achieve better mileage that my buddies are seeing.

In BC your truck can be failed for a MVI if it has "altered emissions", as well a CVSE officer can pull your inspection and make you redo it if it has "altered emissions". In each case it is up to the person doing the inspection, but CVSE is putting more pressure on shops to enforce the "altered emissions"

not part of the cvip yet, and like i said if it does become, it will be worth it to put it back on unless you just did it. Likely they will give notice of the upcoming change as im sure they are aware of the large amount of trucks on the road deleted.

I understand how its cleaner coming out of the pipe, but do they not consider the emissions it takes to produce and deliver twice the amount of fuel these trucks burn in order to emit cleaner emissions. Never mind the containers of DEF that are in landfills and the emissions to transport them around for use. Its all backwards stupid IMO.

sleds on deck to revy and back from Edmonton. Lots of passing and idling. Full trip average fuel was 17.3 litres per Hun. Truck has only 14,000km on it. Why delete and void a warranty to save a couple bucks on fuel. Also the resale loss

The delete on my 14 will never pay for itself in fuel, my mileage is within .5 l/100 of what is was with emissions on.

It's only a matter of time before Ford makes it impossible to remove the emissions equipment. GM is already that way with the L5P Duramax, the ecm encryption is impossible to crack, and the other manufacturers are sure to follow suit shortly.

Zero resale loss on my 12 dodge i traded deleted, and you can swap it back before you trade as many people do.

I traded in my deleted 2010 Ford F250 and lost zero on resale. I have no issues either way, as my current 2016 Duramax remains stock, but the second it causes an emissions issue, the stuff is coming off.

I was listening to the truckers channel on sat radio and they say try and stay away from new trucks as long as possible unless you gotta go through California your screwed. The emissions rigs don't help anyone, good luck

View attachment 208454had a 2012 ram 3500 which i head studded and deleted using h&s tuning at 13xxx km and truck never missed a beat and was awesome on fuel soon as it was deleted. i got a 2017 f350 now and have 15xxx km on it and not very happy with fuel economy or the def crap so looking at deleting again, going to use ez lynk as was told this was only way to go. Any body delete there 17 ford yet if so what you getting for fuel economy? and what tuning are you running with the ez lynk?

Hey how did the ez link and proven diesel tunes work out ?? Are you happy with there tunes ? I got my lml booked in next week to get deleted and are going to try their tunes out

Heard notbing but good things but if been busy and were doing a addition on our house so swept under the rugg for the time being

Cant imagine ever needing to do a delete on my truck. Doesn't seem possible that it could be improved. Good power and really good fuel mileage. 2018 ZR2 with a minimax. Extra cab not a four door. Good enough for an old guy.

Your opinion may change on that when you have a plugged up dpf or failed sensor that shuts the show down in tim buck 2.
Also a failed urea pump is a common cause for deletes. I won’t delete until I need to but by then unfortunately most of the damage has been done with plugged up egr system and the hundreds of regens that already happened. It’s the new reality unfortunately.

Just picked mine up from the shop today with the proven diesel tunes. Right away I noticed there was no more lag or dead pedal. Only on the 50hp tune , that’s the only tune I’m trying. Having stepped on it yet . Gotta let tranny adjust. Will report back in a few days after I put some more km on it

got my deletes on today wasnt to bad to install, so far am
happy with the truck, it isnt to loud and shifts very nice i also went with proven diesel tunes and will
be on the 70hp tune
