Rode renshaw Sat, I'm fussy with my sled and If you Want a honest report well here it is, there are ALOT of Landmines there!! I don't care who you are, there wasn't a place I rode that I didn't feel a rock under my sled, and my skiis show it!! There is a base starting to set up and if there is a good dump of snow it will make it sweet
If you go do not go ripping around if you know where the sweet spots are and have to get that ride in than you'll be ok! We did find a good spot to play and a good hill to climb with lots of snow on it to do some testing, but it was like playing russian roulette, it's only a matter of time before someone finds a sled bender, and I seen a bent up 2011 sled playing in good deep snow.
The group I went with didn't get any damage but there was lots of carnage.
The deactivation ditches were the best I've ever seen them for a early ride, we staged a KM 2 But should of staged at 5.
From what I seen there need to be another 6ft of snow to cover the rocks. We dropped over the steps, BIG mistake there was no snow back there, you could still see weeds throught the snow. Like I said you can find good snow and make a day of it but the risk is not worth the reward IMO. I'm going to wait until there is more snow, because there is definately not enough yet.
But Man it was good to be back in town, anxious to get back already!! Just need to wake up old man winter.

I talked to a guy who went to valemount and rode this weekend, same conditions as mcbride, I don't BS and call it as is see it, I'm just saying that the snow level is down for this time if year and there Is A huge risk of sled damage, But that's the game we play, best advice is monitor the weather and keep your fingers crossed.

Hopefully they get some good snow in the next few weeks. The conditions down south are better but you have to go as far as Fernie.

1st pic is taken over the steps and off to the right in the valley, if you look you can see weeds poking out if the snow
And a pics of the hill that had enough snow on it to climb, and test out my new e-tec, what a amazing sled!

Just got back from Mcbride, so here's the skinny, and I mean skinny, with some pics. Rode the Renshaw sat. , guys were unloading at the p/lot and riding about 3" of snow from there, some guys drove up to the p/lot just past the first bridge unloaded there in about 3-4'' of snow, we drove upto 6.5 kms and unloaded in about 6'' of snow, if you just have a truck and deck you could still drive upto 12 km easily. We scratched the ground at 23 kms and found 14-16'' of snow. The trail from the last cutblock to the cabin wasn't to bad but there were still lotsa stumps and logs showing and waiting to catch you up. At the cabin the snow wasn't quite level with the deck yet, we probed and shovelled a few pits in different places and on average found about 3' of snow, there was no base to it, when you stepped off the sled you were upto your waist in snow. There was alot of evidence of rocks being hit, I lost count really quickly of how many I hit, thankfully no damage. There was fun to be had in the trees and on a few of the slopes, but the snow level isn't even close to this time last year, I'd venture to say half of what we had at the same time. On our way out we caught up to a couple guys that had the unfortunate luck to clobber a rock on the side of the trail at about 24 kms that sheared the ski and a-arms off a Polaris , wasn't pretty. Gave them a hand and towed it downed to the truck for them, loaded it onto our trailer and hauled it down to their rig at the p/lot. They need some serious snowfall in the Renshaw soon.

What a difference from last year. We rode Dec3/4 last year and could barely get around the cabin. Took hours to get across the meadow above the Renshaw cabin. Warched all three of Shifty's crew stuck within 200 yds of the cabin.

Hi boys, well I sure hope your all snow dancing, we certainly have not had the snow so far this year, has been really wierd weather for us. Rod is planning to break trail up the Bell, however Renshaw does not have enough snow on it yet and he is looking into Lucille. With any luck we will get a big old dump of snow soon!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the hills again this year! :d

went for a day trip to Lucille on sunday Dec.5 and the snow is minimal! i would say yhat grooming is out of the question still but the trail is still pretty smooth anyway. found 3 feet in a few places but mostly only 2 to 2.5 feet. of snow. Thats measured with a probe! and tons of stumps and rocks!!!! I hit alot of rocks but no damage. Had a stump stuck between my a arms but no damage but it wasnt fun! lifting an apex straight up in 3' of snow is very hard work!!! LOL sorry no pics  g

Gonna head back in a few days to play around again and i'll let everybody know how it is.
