Hmm looks like the CT splitter is a way better deal....than the 400$ princess auto one .
And cheaper ! ,save a few bucks

Thats full retail, they go on sale several times in the summer for much less, the early july 4 ton with stand was 269+\_ 5 tons was on earlier for not much more

We clear s lot of land ( used too. Anyways lol) and I rent a commercial splitfire splitter. Splits both ways and is lightning fast ...
It's great but after 8 hours .. you are done .
Amazing machine though !

in my opinion, the majority of the electric splitters are the same, 4 ton works well, the 5 ton has some nicer features (adjustable ram, bit more power, a bit larger -stability. although a lot heavier.) Pa electric splitters can be returned after being used, not so much with crap tire. 4 way splitter is not worth the money spent on it. unless you like kindling. a splitting maul will chop the logs quicker than the electric splitter, unless yer into some knot crap, and buy the time you finish fooling with the knots there is a crushed mess, just throw that crap in the all night fire. lots of fun using the 2 hand safety features and trying to steady logs, change the switch or bypass. with the 4 ton, there has been very few logs that i haven't split. i also have a 12 ton splitter that i haven't used in 6yrs. use the 4 ton all the time. you can always adjust it for more power if you need to.
i would say pick what you like, they pretty much are all alike, likely built in the same chinese factory, with a few minor differences. like chevies!

4 way head splitter is useless, Leave it at store, quicker with just the two way head. Have had both for years,
That's 3 of us, 4 way head sucks balls
Not to high jack the tread and I will qualify that I don't know what you are splitting but the 5 ton works awesome and goes on sale at CT for $249. I split all my stove wood this year (birch, spruce, pine, and fir and there was no need for anything bigger.

I agree with Larry and the two way splitting. The knots pretty much dictate where the wood will split and the second knife edge didn't make it easier.
