Looking at a 08 700 dragon 155 for the wife. How was the 700 engine? I have a 10 800 dragon have had no issues but alot of people have. Wondering about 700 reliability.

700 has always been a good engine.
The 800 was a problem. I say buy it, use good oil and have fun!
Check wiring harness near steering post to ensure no pinching of wires, and also where harness runs down on clutch side for chafing.

These have been a strong motor for polaris over the yrs. As long as they're looked after they'll run along time. Good luck

I did the same and upgraded my wife this year to a 09 RMK700 with easy start plus 2 year warranty.I also bought her a SLP pipe combo, handle bar bag, rear seat bag, cover.I still have too get her some scratchers and maybe some betterboards[so I can ride also:d]I have an 09 D800 and went for the 700 due to its long term reliability as this will be a least a 5-7yr sled for her

I bought my 09 700 for this reason in 08/09. I knew the 800's had some issues, so I opted for the 700. Its a strong motor, and performs right beside the 800 when both were running strong.

A lot of people just want BIG power, so they go with an 800. Im glad I went with the 700 and I haven't looked back.

I'm not so big on the cfi700 as some. The one I had did not compare to an 800, wasn't happy with the power so I sold it. It also had a cylinder that was out of spec and the piston was quite loose. It would have failed in the near future if I had not caught that.
A buddy with a 700 had a crank end snap off. I know of a few more but not personally.

Is the 700 better? Maybe but not bulletproof that's for sure

I have the 08 700 rmk and I'm very happy with it! I may not go as high as big sleds but they think twice when i get as high on the second try. Its a tough and powerful motor for what it is, I put the full slp exhaust on it and never looked back.
