Gotta 2020 alpha with 1800 km that won't start... wondering if anyone else has come across this. Warranty has expired so hoping to get a clue as to what might be going on before I take it to a dealer.

She ran great all day, idled it down then shut it off for an hour. Went to start it and it wouldn't fire, tried full throttle while pulling too and nothing. Probably pulled it a couple hundred times! Checked for spark and it was good... Eventually poured a bit of fuel in the one cylinder as a last resort and after four pulls it fired up. Ran it down the trail for about 30 min (ran perfectly) then let it idle down and shut it off. Went to fire it up 15 min later and completely dead again... Almost like the kill switch is off when pulling it over. Towed it down from there, let it sit over night and still nothing.

Not getting fuel for sum reason. Wiring harnesses all appear to be ok... Anything else I can look for / try?

Ya gotta be something along the fuel delivery system... Pump or maybe the injectors?

Just looked up the fuel pump part and it's $660.... Wonder if there is a way to confirm mine is faulty before ordering one?

This is completely off the wall, but your not out of injection oil are you? I know the old Suzuki’s would refuse to start if you were really low, even though they would run for a while if you managed to get them going before they would eventually shutdown again.

Ya oil was topped right up that morning, only put on 60 km when I started having the problem. Looks like it's still over half full even now

I would say either your fuel pump is dying or the stator is getting weak. You can use a meter to measure the amps the pump is drawing. If you can find what is normal that may help narrow it down. A friend's Polaris did this. Had to put a little gas down the plug holes to get it going. Pump worked but needed more power than you could develope pulling the rope.

Which tether do you have on it?

Some of the older button style tethers when they failed would produce similar symptoms to this.

It's the new style factory tether - ruled that out

Could be faulty fuel pump / weak stator like stated above... gonna check in to that and have a look at the injectors too

Make sure the tank vent isn't plugged, and check the fuel pressure before buying a pump. I would pull the pump and make sure everything looks good on the pick ups, wiring etc

we had a 19 that acted up like that on the mountain. Towed it out Dealer figured stator but when he tore into it found scored piston and cracked cylinder. Getting a top end on warranty which covers one side and other side is out of pocket. 2500km om machine
